how much is to much punishment?

I have a daugther that has to see a counseler because kids tease her because she is a tomboy and dresses like one..she didn't "fit in" with the other girls..and the names they called her wern't what you may think is bad but it was enough to drop her self esteem..she went from being reaally confident to thinking she was ugly..and i've shown pics she and my son are gorgeous..but look what mean kids can do to one child..Parents I beg you to do what you can to stop your children from teasing. I know if it was mine they would think twice of doing it again. I dont' condone it or just say "oh well kids just tease"

Name calling hurts, and some children can be cruel.
What ever happend to If you don't have anything nice to say,
Don't say anything at all. All children should feel safe at school,

There are also still school districts here that do not allow any dancing...no dances..at all, not for fundraisers, benefits, or just general socialization...

Can't you have a teacher arrested for hitting your child? If someone on the street hit your child with a stick you could. Why is alright for a teacher to do it? I just don't get it.

And if you don't agree you have to find other options for your kids education? To me that's wrong on so many different levels!

I will agree with you on that..I WOULD NOT allow the principal to punish my child. But I do wish parents would add discipline back into their parenting.

That is terrible. he should of spent 10 min in the school office and a letter of apology to the kid.
