![]() Hi all, Thank you so much for your input and the " You can do its!" I love the support with stories and suggestions. Tonight is better, Im eerily calm again, so happy Im not smoking but still craving a burst of nicotine off and on, a cigarette was the beginning and the end to almost every task I did. Driving, loading the dish washer, unloading the dishwasher, putting the kids down for a nap, getting the kids up from a nap, thinking about folding the laundry, finishing folding the laundry, thinking about starting dinner, finishing fixing dinner............just a few examples.......I smoked for all occasions if allowed.....then it lost its so called good effect so I smoked not only before a task and after but DURING the task too! I never did feel better........would you beleive I started to feel worse?!!.......Sometimes I couldnt enjoy an outing that didnt allow smoking because it took to long and since you cant smoke everywhere anymore, alot of times I couldnt wait to get out and smoke so whatever I was doing no matter how much fun it was to me I didnt enjoy it at the end because I wanted a cigarette. THat is all I wanted , a cigarette to give me a blast of nicotine to calm the craving. That is the power of addiction. For some reason it helps me to talk about "the monkey on my back" Guess Im trying to talk him down! He sure is stubborn! But Im beating his hairy butt right now! Ill beat it ![]() ![]() ![]()

![]() My brother in law who smoked for many years quit by using some type of stop smoking thing and it came in a bottle and when you got the craving you smelled it. I can't remember what he said it was but it worked for him. He stopped after smoking for about 20 some years. He said everyonce in a while he would crave cigs but never picked them back up.

![]() Chachi, Good for you and Good luck and good will power!!!!! If You need a quit buddy for support and sharing I would be glad to try to help. I bought the lozenges a week or so before my quit date, I asked my husband to smoke outside and he agreed and does so, I also cleaned my car out especially my ashtray, got rid of my lighters and made sure no cigarettes were in my house and no ashtrays. Hubby doesnt bring his in anymore. I hope he quits one day but right now he is being respectful of me and if he choses to quit thats great. But right now I just worry about my quitting. If you use the lozenges, they really do curve cravings but do use the minimal amount just as they say NO LESS, ................from experience if you do use less on one day, the next day sucks because the cravings are worse. Its all about a constant low dose of nicotine especially the first weeks and if you dont use the therapy as recommended, it doesnt work as well. Yesterday I used half the dose because I felt really good and didnt want a cigarette but I woke up the next morning craving a cigarette really bad and it lasted most of the day. If you take it as recommnded it really does give you the power to not indulge, and realize you feel better without a puff. Sending you " A big wish of success, you can do it!"

![]() You can do it! I've set my quit date for April 1. I know I have to do it. I'm 45 and have been smoking for more than half of my life. I've quit before, but only for 4 months and I started again when my father-in-law passed away. But this time I'm just resigned that it's what I have to do if I want to be healthier and live longer. I have M.S. and I'm sure the smoking doesn't help. The only thing is that when my pain is high, I smoke 'cause it's something to do to take my mind off of the pain. I'll have to find something else to do, I guess (something other than eat!) ![]() I wish you all the best. If you can survive those first big craving days, you're doing amazing....just think....each day will get easier!
