| ![]() i work nights and walk romeo when i get home around 1am. we live in a quiet neighborhood. it's nice to walk around with no cars zipping around and have some quiet time. plus, romeo gets so excited when i come home it calms him down. while on an afternoon day walk a neighbor approached me saying he has a problem with my late night walks. he said when i come by his house his dog gets hyper and starts barking uncontrolably. that romeo's flasher (a little safety flashing light on his harness that's pea sized) and our presence has irritated him for a long time. i explained to him in a calm manner that romeo does not bark and we are just passing by and it's his responsibility to control his own dog. barking is a behavior problem not caused by me, but a lack of training and control. he said he's sick of fancy folks with little dogs buying up the houses around here. i replied your sick of young couples buying old homes spending big money to fix them up in turn raising your property value? he said next time he sees me he's going to let his rather large intimidating dog out the front door to attack us. i've stayed away from his street and him. i figured he's just some emotionally unstable grump taking out his misery on me. yesterday i was at the corner (i don't go by his house anymore-i don't want trouble) and he gave me the finger and gestered for me to go away. i was over a block away. should i report him to the police? what would you do? ![]() |

| ![]() If you are going to be staying in that neighborhood for a long time, if I were you I would just avoid him. Take a different route when you walk at night. He probably is a grumpy old man and you should avoid any contact with him. If he threatens you again, you could contact the police, however it may cause even more problems that you don't need. You are entitled to walk your dog whenever you want to. I say avoid him and go on with your nightly walks! ![]()

| ![]() I know you don't want trouble but if I were in that situation, I'd purposely prance my yorkie IN FRONT of his house! His dog is barking BECAUSE he can't control them. Who's fault is it? His!!! That's not my problem. I'd be prepared though. If he did have his "big, intimidating" dog out there waiting for me, I'd have a vinegar spray ready. However, this is your situation. You don't want your baby to get hurt. Yes, definitely go to the police and make a record of the incident. In case something really happend, you'd be able to make him take the responsibility. |

| ![]() I would report it, why should someone come to you and try to intimidate you for just walking by his house! Probably his neighbours are making complaints if he cant control his dog - what a weirdo! |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | ![]() I would probably avoid him but go to the police station and tell them what happened and that for now you just want it on record if anything further develops. That way they are aware buut they don't go to him and get him even angrier. Unfortunatley there are too many crazies in this world and sometimes avoiding them is the best option not necesarily fair but safest option. Good luck

| ![]() I am so sorry this happened. You have the right to walk your dog wherever and whenever you want to. I WOULD file a police report ASAP. If something happens or if he does something to you and your yorkie, especially since he knows where you live you will have it on record that he threatened you. You need to get it on record whenever someone makes a threat like that. If you ever end up in court against him and you tell the judge that guy threatened you, the judge will ask for a police report. If you don't have that, the judge will just call it hearsay. I would take all threats seriously if I were you. That guy shouldn't be able to do that. Maybe him seeing that the police have a record of the incident will shut that guy up. I hate all of the stigma people like him attach to us with little dogs! He needs to get over himself. If his dog barks outside and he doesn't like it, then he should bring it in or train it. |

| ![]() That man is a sicko and I would report him. Stay as far away from him as you can and makes sure your little one does not eat anything outside. I am so sorry this is happening to you.
