I loved reading what everyone does - was Jaspersmom really a rock star??? I am an Escrow Officer - I handle all of the paperwork when you buy or sell your home or refinance your mortgage. So all you mortgage brokers out there, when you have a deal in California, give me a call! :-) I am also a licensed Real Estate Agent - but I'm non-practicing - so I can give you advice and guidance if you have any questions. It's lots of paper, but I love my job! |
I am a student--kind of. Just graduated from college. I am taking a break for now. I hope I will be going to grad school next year. I want to get my PhD and do whatever my heart feels like doing in 6 years. At the moment I am doing the applications and the GREs, which is NOT fun one bit. Hubby is also a student. He is trying to become a vet, which is good, because I intend to have many many animals like Yorkies, and cats, and ferrets, and goats, and chicken, and mini horses, and llamas, and turtles, and fishies, and a mongoose. Will save a lot of money with a vet-in-residence LOL |
I do nothing, and have perfected the art of doing nothing...I have always depended on "the kindness of strangers" as Blanche said in Streetcar..in my case the kindness of my husband. LOL PS..I was thinking of a part time job and looked in the paper..one caught my eye...Model wanted, OLDER and WISER..hmmmm what could that be? |
I am a csr in a call center. We take calls from people about their ER dr visits. I love it, except the mean people who cuss me out. Not my fault they have a dr bill they need to pay. |

What a great job you have. As the mother of a 10 year old high functioning Autistic child I know how challenging and hard it can be at times. Good Luck in college. I'm in college to be a special needs teacher. Seeing everything that my son has had to overcome and the friends in his class. I was so awed by his achievements and the achievements that he continues to make that I decided to go back to college. Anyway sorry for rambling. |

Great cause. Congrats and good luck. What part of WV are you from. My husband is orginially from Beckley. He still has family that lives there. Just curious. Welcome, I noticed that you just joined this month. |
I'm a proud stay at home mother of a "tween" daughter and a little Yorkie boy (plus a German Sheppard and a Black Lab). I have homeschooled now for several years and love it. I also help run my husbands classic car restoration business (appointments, show information, etc) and sell online too. I also take a few online classes in my spare time (when/if there is ever any). I spend two days a week with each of my grandparents (taking them to doctor appts, errands, helping around their house and just visiting with them, while I can). We active in several groups and activies (from car clubs to gymnastics to guitar), so we are always on the run with those and helping with fundraising events or other events. We also volunteer at our local animal services. (walking the dogs, donating items, taking pictures and writing descriptions for each pet). Prior to staying home, I worked at our local elementary and high school with the special ed. / special needs children and also as office support. While being a girl scout leader, cheerleading/pom coach and assitant basketball coach. Prior to that, I worked at our local university in the housing dept. Started out working with the graduate students and then working with the incoming freshman. (planning schedules, events, tours, billing, etc) |
Bluefield,Wv just moved here Quote:
Wanted to get away from where I was. and husband has family here. right now trying to get members and suport is rough. most vets go to Beckly which really doesn't take care of the vets. and most cops are too maucho to talk about pain and piss. sorry for the language. |

Small world. Where did you move from? My husband grew up in Richlands, I'm orginially from Whitewood(Buchanan Co). Are you enjoying it in Bluefield. From experience Bluefiled during the winter always seems colder then The rest of the places around there. Hope you like it there. |

Congrats on graduating college!! Are you going to finish grad school before you start your career? I've heard some stories that it's better to get your job, then go back to grad school because companies don't want to hire someone w/ a masters and no experience. They don't want to have to pay for that. |

Thanks for the compliment!!! :D Good luck to you as well in school. And trust me....you have the hardest job, being a mom to a special needs child. And I can see you're a great mom!!!  |
I work at a law firm, as a legal receptionist. I am doing this untill one of two things happen; A) My fiance realizes, I shouldn't have to work, and lets me stay at home, because we have sudenly become uber rich (Hey, I can dream). OR B) I get my inheritance. I'm going with A, but its not looking up at this point. |

I want to be a professor, so I definitely want to go to grad school first. Actually, I don't want to work for a company at all. After I get my PhD, I might go into Journalism, Publishing or whatever is available (and much more is available when you have a PhD) until I find a teaching job, but I think I want to stay in academia and continue to be a nerd for the rest of my life LOL :nerd: |
Well I'm still awaiting for my sugar daddy to come sweep me off my feet....lol But on a serious note, I work in the office staff of the orthopedics dept at our local clinic. Trying to change positions and go to the insurance dept while I start school next month to be a certified coder. |

I work in the office staff for an Oncology clinic in Houston, Texas. If everything goes smootly next year. I want to go back to school to do my nursing. |
I’m an engineer that works at a Telecommunication company. Sometimes I love my job and sometimes I don’t. The company I work for use to have over 100,000 people globally and now we are down to 30,000 and the work load has double…..man,I need a vacation… :eyeballpc |
I'm a certified elementary teacher. I worked in an inner-city public school and hated it! It was only first grade and I had to have give kids suspensions. I even called the police on one of my students for an attch he made against me. He was very angry and violent. I quit that job and work part time at a small preschool two days a week Sept thru May. We have lots of holidays in between too. The atmosphere is the opposite of my previous job. I also babysit for a family a few days a week. I love being just PT compared to FT. I quit the FT job when I became a mom. I have two beautiful girls adopted from Russia. I adopted Anna in Nov 2004 when she was 10 yo and Alena just this past June at age 9 yo. They, plus baby yorkie Sadie (4 mos), keep me pretty busy. It's nice not to have to worry about my job when I come home. |
I am a psychotherapist with 10 years of practice and I'm specialized in pet's mourning. Some people really need help in those difficult moments. Our pets are part of our life, members of our family. So when the end comes sometime we need help to manage it. I have change my pratice a year ago and I am really happy to help people this way. |
insurance agent I am currently a displaced insurance agent. I had a multi line insurance agency for a few years and I just closed May 1. I think it was a mistake. I am now going crazy with boredom and I need to decide what to do next. Decisons? |
I work in the Pharmaceutical Industry in Marketing and Sales. I love the industry, but not necessarily the company I work for. I graduated college not too long ago and eventually will go back for my Masters - as long as someone other than me pays for it!!! :p |
I work in a State Farm Agents Office. The Agent is retiring in March. So I really do not due much now. (but read Yorkietalk all day) But when the new agent comes in, I am sure I will be doing a lot more work. So I will enjoy it until then. |
