| hmm...nothing is on my front door or mantel however my indoor porch area is a japanese styled room. There's a tatami that you have to step on to get to the closet. I'll take some pics. suggestion - I love the vines look. I passed by a house and they had pretty vines wrapped around their banister and a general reef on the door. It was very pretty and hot christmassy at all.

Donating YT 10K Club Member | I can't post pics cause I'm at work.....but on my front door is a child's snow shovel decorated with rusty tin snow flakes, quilt mittens, and little snowmen heads. Got it off eBay. I change what's on my front door monthly according to whatever holiday is in that month or what season if there isn't a holiday. On my mantle....cause I am a junk-o-holic....6 antique oil lamps on one end, two long baskets stacked on top of each other in the middle, (this is being switched when I get another clock that belonged to my parents) far end a couple of antique clocks beside those is a lamp made from a pottery jug that....get this...is from the 1800's Bought that puppy at a yard sale for $15 cause I liked it. It has blue lettering (words)....did some research and discovered who the person was whose name was on it and who made it.....approximate value $300, cool, huh? Maybe not cool if your taste runs more contemporary I tell ya the easiest decorating idea....change around what you ALREADY have. Use things in rooms you hadn't before, you'll be surprised how new it makes a room look. I placed an antique dresser in my dining room as a buffet piece....gal I got it from came over...and immediately said....hmmmm, wished I'd thought of that, cause I'd have kept it. Another friend on a cheap budget, picked up various styles of clocks (not the old alarm clocks...LOL)...any way displays them all on her mantle. It looks really, really nice and didn't cost much at all.

| On my front door we have a really nice wreath (that I made) & for Christmas, since I have a December birthday, my standing birthday present is a beautiful fresh wreath for our front door. And on the porch I have 2 planters, that have flowers from April til Oct. then in Oct I decorate them with pumpkins, mums & gourds. I haven't come up with anything that I really like in those planters for the Christmas season. I don't have a fireplace, so therefore no mantle to decorate. Desiree |

I use seasonal wreaths on the door. My fireplace now is all stone and no mantle, but when I had a mantle at my last house, I put my collection of Waterford crystal clocks on it. I'm up to about 50 clocks now, so they would never fit! I like your idea about rearranging stuff that you have. I have so many things that I buy because I love them, but I don't know how to display them... wish I was better at it.

She has a wreath on the door at christmas time, but other than that.... the front door has stained glass in it so it doesnt really need any more "doing up".. her mantle gets switched out a lot during the year, at christmas it is santas, in oct it is halloween stuff, in november it is turkeys, in january it is snowmen, then easter stuff, then red white and blue stuff..... LMAO i think she decorates too much |

She has one of those theme flags on her front porch that she changes all the time, and by her side door she has this goose that has different outfits for the seasons. Easter eggs on the trees... It's nuts!
