| Thanks for posting this, Gail. This topic is a highly controversial one, but because of the courage of these women and their families, people hopefully will be able to choose to die with dignity. After witnessing the pain and suffering before their death of people I love dearly, I hope more states in the U.S. will pass similar laws.

| I'm in favor of assisted suicide, and providing people with humane medications so that they may end their pain and suffering themselves, at their chosen time. Obviously, there should be clearly defined processes in place, so it isn't utilized on a whim. Something simple, like 3 requests in a row, 3 days (24 hrs) apart, and then the meds are dispensed. Death with dignity should be the right of all, IMO.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I'm so glad this has passed, I too have had a friend who had to make this choice for his mother and I don't believe there is any dignity in begging your child to kill you.

| For years I have been saying, when animals are suffering, in pain and there is no cure, we humanly euthanize, yet we let ppl suffer in pain with no cure in sight, there is more sympathy for animals then for humans. I to also would like to see more states pass such a law.

| I am 100 % in agreement that a person should be able to make that choice if terminally ill and nothing else can be done. I have been saying this for at least 10 yrs now. I just wish more states in the US allowed it.
