| If you could meet one person (current or past) Who would it be and why? The number ONE which is stipulated in this query makes things very difficult for me. There are so many people who I feel have been so influential in different ways. For example, those involved in women's rights, human rights, child rights etc. What about my Cherokee ancestors? And, there are local, unsung heroes, now and in the past, locally and all over the world. How to make the decision!!! PLUS, there are so many handsome men through time .......... I don't want to BE with them - I just want to look at them, in person, and consider them. For example, Clark Gable. It doesn't matter what his reputation is, I'd like to have heard his perspective on life from him. And, Marilyn Monroe? And, my hero, Albert Einstein. SO, I have to return to this thread to answer my own question because there is so much to consider. In the mean time, who is that ONE person for you and why? |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Okay...I think I'm going to choose. BUT, I want you to know and suffer with me: this is/was a VERY tough decision for me, lol!!! SOooooo many people I could think of! But I'm going with: Leonardo da Vinci -- bc his brain just makes me go what the _____? It absolutely mystifies me. He was (list from Wiki) an Italian polymath, painter, sculptor, architect, musician, mathematician, engineer, inventor, anatomist, geologist, cartographer, botanist, and writer. I mean REALLY??? It almost makes me a little mad that so much talent was given to one person, lol!

We sometimes have the conversation - choose 4 people to sit round the table and have dinner with us...who would you choose? It changes regularly - now I'm going to have to have a little re-think...

| Ok, so I thought about it and my answer surprised me. If I could meet anyone, it would be the younger version of my mom because I'd want to shield her from some of the things she'd gone through, teach her coping skills and build her self-esteem so that she could blossom into a woman of self-assurance, self-worth and intellect. I wouldn't want to change her personality or the things which make her uniquely her. I just think that I'd like to have the opportunity to mentor her - to teach her coping skills, for example, before she was left to deal with things from a juvenile point of view. Maybe then, she'd appreciate life more and realize how much she is appreciated by others. I really thought I'd say Albert Einstein or Vivien Leigh - go figure! | Without a doubt I would want to meet my late husband who passed away exactly six years ago today. If only I could have one more day to tell him how much I love him, and how grateful I am for all he has done for me, and that I am ok. I also long for the reassurance that he is ok too and watching over us, and I'd expect him to tell me what it's like in heaven, because I am sure that is where he is.

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | Current or past? Hmmmm.... Why stop there? I want to meet someone from the future - the far future - say 500 yrs from now - preferably not human. I think I would want to meet the poet Blake, if it is past I am considering. And in the current the Dali Lama

Beyond that wish, I would love to meet Amelia Earhart and talk about her flying experiences, her love life, and to know what exactly happened to her in the end. I have a private pilot's license and had my own Cessna 182 airplane when we lived in Arizona and I have always been fascinated with women in aviation.

This is interesting!!!! All of these posts are interesting!!!! I thought, earlier, what about a younger version of yourself? What would you tell yourself if you had the chance and would you even listen? I'd like to think I would but I'm not 100% sure.... | |
