| ![]() Then where do you put your vehicles? It seems silly to have my Caddy sitting outside in the elements, and junk stored in the garage.

I have stuff id willing give away but don't know where to give it to, other than the local salvation army and goodwill stores, that turn around and sell it. I gave a couple of dog crates & leashes to a local rescue, because i know of them through a friend that is involved in transporting animals for them. But i have quite a few things that have never been used and would make great Christmas gifts to less fortunate adults, but i have know idea where to give them.

| ![]() DH & I put our house on the market earlier this year and in preparation to show it, we had to declutter. We are not done, we got burnt out and never really got back to it. I guess the best declutter for us is going to be when we have to pack to move! I don't keep a lot but DH is kind of a pack rat. He thinks he can repurpose everything or fix everything. I have to do a lot of going around behind him and cleaning up behind his back. He gets mad at me for a few hours, but gets over it. He gets overwhelmed by the stuff he had to clean out. I think he was actually surprised by how much STUFF he had around and after a yard sale, craigs list, about 20 trips to goodwill, the dump, with our trailer, he is starting to throw more away now. I wish I had some tips & tricks for you, but just muddle through and you'll be so happy you did. Be realistic too, on what you are truly going to repurpose or not. I found that our good intentions of repurposing things from years ago didn't happen and I finally just got rid of those things. Have fun and good luck to you! ![]()

What kind of projects will you be working on? I love diy home improvement projects, but thats part of what kicked off my decluttering. I had odd tools scattered all around the house, and could never find what i needed when i needed it. So i built some shelving and a workbench in the garage and organized all my tools. I then loved knowing exactly where something was and being able to get my hands on it in seconds, rather than searching the house for 15-20 minutes trying to remember where id last used it.

I bought my lil house first, and then put my big house up for sale about three months later. At the time, it was nice having somewhere to move extras out of the big house to, to get it show ready. But later i regretted moving stuff to the lil house to store it. I should have got rid of a lot, rather than move it to then go through it all. Luckily my lil house is less than three miles from my old house so i didn't have far to go, and didn't have to pay to move my junk, as i moved it all myself. It seems i only see repurposing ideas on Pinterest after I've thrown things out. ![]()
