| R.I.P, Thomas Eric Duncan. You might have been saved if better treated sooner. I'll pray for your family who are hurting so badly and your direct contacts who are probably so scared.

| Mixed feelings. He lied to get back into the United States and put a lot of people at risk. Hopefully no one else will die or suffer due to his selfishness and deception. RIP |

| I am sorry he has passed, despite receiving the best know treatment we have. I am really sorry for the fear his presence in the U.S. has caused, and pray that it was not spread to any others.

| Not going to pass judgement on him. He lied for sure, but we don't know why. Maybe he just wanted to be with his loved ones....maybe he was in denial.....maybe he wanted better medical care. Whatever the reason, he is no longer here. Terrible disease and very sad that anyone should die. May he rest in peace. I feel terrible for his loved ones...they now have a threat of illness looming over them and they have lost someone they cared for. Just so sad in so many ways.

| Google "Ebola" and look at the pictures. Why anyone would bring this type of horror deliberately upon others is beyond me.

| And another thing - why did Spain euthanize that nurse's poor dog? Seems to me that was a perfect chance to study the animal to find out if people could pass the disease on to animals. Do they know this for sure?

Yes it can be passed from animal to human and human to animal. To keep an animal that that has been exposed to or has had ebola would put the human at risk. Live subjects are needed for further research. Very sad indeed that the poor dog had to be euthanized but Spain was being better safe than sorry. And if the patient lied, that leaves no room for judgment. He's no longer here to defend himself or even to say what his rationale was for doing so. I can ascertain that he probably was scared for his life, thought he might get better healthcare here and took a chance. A chance that put others at risk. We live or die by the choices we make and the majority of the time it also will have an impact on someone else.
