I guess Buffalo isn't Long Island! 90 deg in the shade at 6 am is hard to take though in NC. Our dogs do not adapt well to hot and humid weather and the panting is very disturbing and sad. Again Good Luck and perhaps arm yourself with the good advice of Capt. Noonie, LOL!

Oh trust me we stayed in the house pretty much the whole trip. I wouldnt make her go out because I'm sure her paws would've been hurt. we went to south of the border and myrtle Beach and that was before it got ridiculous with the heat lol

100 today in Vegas! But this weekend will be cooling down. Haven't really needed to use the AC in quite a few weeks though.

You're lucky that you don't need A-C even when it's warm! Surely though you will need it today, won't you? 100 even in a dry climate seems very hot. Ugh-eeee! I mean October is a day and a half away and here we are talking 90's and 100!!! :(

We're going to be in the low 90's until Friday when we are going to cool down to 82-ish by the end of the week. I'm so tired of hearing the A-C run, always being mostly too cold in the house and always feeling a fan's breeze in my face. So ready to open up the windows and feel autumn cool air - but I haven't a clue when that may be. Sigh.

It's been a roller coaster of a weather here, 100+ & cooling down to low 70's for a few short days...today is heating back up again, in the 80's & it's supposed to get hotter as the week goes by. TG Oct is around the corner...but it's probably still going to stay relatively warm for another month, for us.
Last winter was so unseasonably warm in LA, wore capris, a t-shirt & flip flops in Dec, I'm ready to bundle up!

I can take the dry 100+ degree heat, it probably feels good inside the house w/just the fan on...this humid sticky yucky 100+ is so unbearable.

I am sooo tired of the heat in So Cal. We have another 100+ heat wave on its way now and I am not looking forward to it. Makes me want to move so bad.

Then you know at least one big state to not move to. It's 6:00 pm and 86 degrees still and I'll bet by 9:00 pm, it will still be 82!

But does Texas at least have seasons? Texas is actually one of our options if we were to ever really move. lol The company my dh works for has offered him to move to their Texas location. I keep pushing him but he doesn't want to go. darn it.

We don't have seasons. It is summer 75% of the year here! I am so over it.

Oh, yes, we have autumn and some true winter weather for a couple to three days at a time sometimes - even snow - and a spring - then from late May/early June through August it is really hot outside most days before it backs off. Summer nights may or may not cool off enough to enjoy a picnic or baseball game or outing unless it's really humid. You never really feel it too much as every car, home and building have A-C so you usually just go from one air-conditioned place to another during the summer and save most of your outdoor activities, such as fairs and picnics, until the weather cools down.

I bet it's a lot cheaper than here too! I wish he'd consider it but I think he thinks Ca is where its at or something. LOL Me... I am just tired of it and ready for a change! Oh well maybe one day.

It is cheaper to live in Texas than Ca and no state taxes. Once we get through summer, the rest of the year is great and food, hotel rates, real estate, energy are all pretty reasonable here compared to other large states. I guess the best part about Texas are the people - we don't mind smiling a lot and saying "please" and "thank you", "have a great day" and many of the men still use the term, "ma'am" when talking to a lady.

There *is* something about southern charm, that just so, well, charming! The midwest is similar in that people can be so friendly and open.

As far as weather/heat right now here in the southwest...sigh...STILL in the 90s over here! But hey, it's a dry heat .

We are lucky that our house is well insulated and the way it faces doesn't get the hot sun. So no we didn't have to turn on the ac. But Sat night we went out and I needed a light jacket! It was windy too. Last few days had been really nice out. Only in the 80s and this weekend should be low 90s. I'm kinda hoping for one last heat wave so we can get the most out of our water park pass.

And to top it off, there is snow on Mt Charleston!

The midwest is so friendly and open - good people up there and gentle with travelers - haha.

I hear you, Ann. We're going up to 93 AGAIN today but Thursday afternoon - TADA! - we get a "break" and the temp drops into the lower 80's for a couple of days! Then back up to the mid and upper 80's! Not much but I'll take it. I'm sick of all heat - wet or dry or whatever - haha. Just so want some cool air soooo bad!

Argghhhh, I hate it so much when the dewpoints are in the mid 70s like today. My face feels like I just rubbed a stick of warm butter in my beard the second I go outside. Thankfully we get that same cold front tomorrow night.

I cannot wait to finally get some cool breezy weather! Right now the sun is blazing outside and I'm sure soon it will start pouring. Got to love this crazy bipolar weather in Florida.
