It's finally September!!! And Labor Day!!! The holidays are just around the corner! Happy Labor Day to all you sweating/glistening YT's who are done with this long, hot summer and so ready for fall as well as to the rest of you who have decent summer weather! Sept. 1 is a red-letter day for those of us in hot climates as we know we are in the process of finally saying "goodbye" to the dog days of summer!!! |
MD actually had a REALLY tame summer... we've been very lucky... and then of course Sept hits and we have one of the humid days all summer ugh!! Supposed to be super hot and muggy all week. Figures. |
Ready for Fall, it is still hotter than you know what here in GA. Spent the weekend at the beach, beautiful weather in the Florida panhandle but now I am ready for long pants, boots and sweater season. |
Yeah finally some summer weather here! Going to the lake today:thumbup::thumbup: |
Summer wasn't really that bad for us in Vegas this year. We had a lot of thunderstorms and cloud coverage that cooled us down. It's so dry here so it doesn't feel as hot as you in the humid places. It was funny that when we wanted to go to the water park, we were like, nah it's barely 100 today, not hot enough. As soon as the sun starts to set and you're walking around soaking wet and a breeze comes thru you are shivering! But I am looking forward to fall! It gets way colder here than in So Cal. I love fall clothes and the layers! I have two almost brand new coats that I never wore bc it never gets that cold in Cali. You could make do with a hoodie! |

Yea Labor Day doesn't really mean anything weather wise around here :p I spent Saturday night sweating in a HOT thunderstorm waiting for a game to start and it never happen because of our lovely thunderstorms we have daily. SOMETIMES we are lucky enough to maybe have hoodie weather for what is known as the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party and Halloween but even last year I was still in shorts for both events the end of Oct. |
dog We are not used to the heat here in California. Lately it has been extra hot and ya get sweaty just walking around the neighborhood. The fall craft shows are starting which I love and the stores have fall stuff. Getting in the mood for fall. How is Tibbe? I am so glad you are back on line, Jeanie. I have missed your posts and the reports on Tibbe. He is the cutest! Looks like my Spud. Hope you both are doing well. |
Using the words Labor Day and Fall together in Texas? Nah, in the San Antonio area we don't start hitting the 80s consistently until October. I still remember a couple of years ago when we hit 112 in the middle of September. |
It's 94 degrees here now and I'm losing hope. NFL football starts tonight but I'm beginning to wonder if fall is on its way at all. Just got back from an appt., lunch and some errands and it's hot out there and people are kinda cranky for Texans! I'm steamed we're still so hot. All I can say is fall better get here before long!!! I've had enough of sunshine, sunshine, sunshine and non-stop heat. Even though this has been a "mild" Texas summer there should be a limit on how many days cowboys 'n girls have to put up with over 90 degree temps!!!. wah, :cry8: I want cool air, falling leaves, to hear the sounds of the high school band practicing for Friday's game wafting through the air early in the mornings, to wear a rust-colored sweater, gray wool slacks and knee-length boots not the constant sound of lawn-mowers and everybody in eternal sunglasses, shorts and tank or crop-tops !!! Please, Mother Nature!!! Cut us some slack! :hands: |
