YES!!!! They only spackled enough for the tapes to stay on so I had to "prep" the drywall for the primer. I'm SO happy that thing is done with... I don't ever want to do that again.. lol

Oh heck no... I'm short. LOL That's my niece. She lives about 4 hrs away so I don't see her often. Thought it'd be nice to spend some time with her. She looked bored just sitting around and asked if she could do something so I asked her to fill the screw holes. (I had to go over what she did... lol)

Oddly... this room is the room I spent the most money on. Why? Cuz mama wanted it look'n nice. And no one says no to mama! :p

Have some new additions to my Thanksgiving place settings this year - woo hoo! Aren't the little hen/chicken individual salt/pepper cellars too cute..?!!

Okay... I need your help! Below is a picture of what I have for light in my bedroom. I'm fine with it but apparently, it looks too cheap and I'm ordered to take it down. :(

I don\'t want a floor lamp so... any ideas? Something simple but looks decent.

Um, yeah, I also hereby order you to take down that... thing immediately! Lighting looks best when it comes in from a window, or in the case of a light, at eye level, so if you don't want a floor lamp, I'd suggest a wall sconce. though if you don't already have the wiring, you'll have to have an electrician come in. Lowe's has many styles and many of them are modern and clean.

I agree, that light has got to go. :D An electrician can easily tap into the wires of a nearby outlet to install a wall sconce.

How about side tables and lamps? I put in recessed can lights in my bedroom and I don't really like the light. I only use them when I play with the dogs in the room at night.

Yeah I learned on Ask This Old House that can lighting really is only good for places you need bright overhead light such as a kitchen, not so great in a bedroom. My dad put in some mini can lights in my brother's old room and the lighting isn't flattering, plus when you have the lights on and lay down in bed for reading or iPad use the lights get in your eyes.

Wrap some ribbon around the cord.

How about these? They look COOL, are cheap, and they plug in (yes!).

I wear frameless glasses and the light glare is extra annoying.

I used to wear frameless glasses too so I can totally understand. LASIK!!!!!! So totally worth it...
