| good thoughts needed Hi, I am being selfish here- but our family could really use some good thoughts if you are able to send them. We have had several deaths for the last few months in our family... about a yr ago- my father in law and my aunt in law were given about a yr to live (cancer) At this point my father in law has not eaten for 8 days and is too weak to move, he says he knows this is the end for him.... it is. My aunt in law told the family when her brother (my uncle in law) ended his life a couple of months ago, that she was in remission (I didn't believe it) and it ends out, it was a lie to help the family feel better... she is on her last 2 months according to the doctor. my cousin and uncle also passed away a couple of months ago... our family has seen and felt so much death lately that is to unbearable for us but really difficult for my children... so if you could spare some good thoughts for our family I would appreciate it... Thank you |

Cancer runs rampant through my family as well, and we have also had our share of heartache. It is a terrible way to go. But it is also something that gives the suffering person time to prepare their family and settle their affairs, so in a way, it has its' own blessings as well. I know it's not something you want to think about, but cancer also lets loved ones ease into the grieving because of the time it takes. I know it is still very very painful to lose someone you love, and none of the above makes it any better. I just want you to know I am here for you if you need me, pm me anytime. HUGS!!!

| Thank you all so much, I just got back from seeing him- at least he let us call hospice, they said they would be out next week, we told them that will be too late. He is lying in bed, too weak to get up, it is obvious he is coughing up blood. I picked up the house a bit and we left, he wants no food, no water, no meds. It will be my responsibility to check on him twice a day for the weekend, and to meet hospice there. I know I will find him gone. I won't be bringing my daughter with to check on him.. he wants no one to stay, but is allowing us to check on him (so we can call the people to get him when he passes) It broke my heart to leave, but according to my husband, we have to respect his wishes, and do our check and leave. That is what my father in law wants. I hope he goes peacefully and that my mother in law comes back into town before tuesday (I know that will be to late, well it would be a miracle if it wasn't) She is still grieving (still at the anger stage) over her brother taking his own life recently.. and she can't deal with this. Last time he was 1/2 this bad they put him in the hospital for fluids/food... this time he says no to the hospital... that is his wishes. Villette- I did get my daughter a book, like you suggested, she won't read it... she isn't able to deal with it right now, I just keep telling her if she has any questions or wants to talk I am here, but being 8 and already losing so many uncles and cousins recently- I know it is just too much for her.... she did ask what we want when we die. Well thanks for listening, and thanks for the thoughts and offers for emailing or pm'ing... I will be here with my daughter this weekend, and checking on my father in law- but I want to make sure I spend quality time with my daughter, so I won't be online much- but I will keep you all informed, since you are kind enough to keep us in your thoughts. |
