When I first moved from Chicago to Ohio they said I had a Chicago accent. I knew New Yorkers had a definite accent but not Chicago.:confused: |

The test was fun and truthful for me. My accent is The South. I almost lived my whole life in the South. I did not want a Southern accent but too bad for me. (lol) I just want to add when I talk I sound smart. No stereotyping here. |

Test was fun! Mine is Midland and says maybe I'm from southern Ohio which is only 5 miles away, so guess I do not have the Kentucky southern accent. |

I don't have an accent :) "You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio. |
I was from NJ (Good place to be from, far from!!), went in ARMY at 17, ended up at Campbell, Kentucky and Bragg, Georgia after Nam. This gave me the ability to adapt to what ever part of the country I'm in. Its funny cause people try to figure where I'm from and its kinda southern most of the time. Was born in Germany learned English from the radio as we lived on a farm when we first got here. |
Ah...they got me to a tee. 95% "The Midland" aka I don't really have an accent :D They guessed I may have lived in Ohio (yep) or even Charleston (South Carolina, yep) or Florida (born there!) LOL. So accurate! My mom actually grew up in Ohio so she has more of a northern accent but I lived there for like 5 years before moving to SC. The culture shock was strong. It reminded me to not drawl my words lile everyone from SC did. Therefore I just don't have an accent at all lol. |
