Do you have an accent? |
:) I've got an accent - but I'm sorry, it isn't American...... More like The Queen, really..... :D Sally :queen3: + Prince Harry xx |
Me too! as phila.as cheesesteak |
Judging by how you talk you are probably from north Jersey, New York City, Connecticut or Rhode Island. Chances are, if you are from New York City (and not those other places) people would probably be able to tell if they actually heard you speak. hehehe well I grew up next to Rhode Island and always wanted to be a New Yorker. ;) |
The Inland North... I've never even been visited that area... lol |
Southern 85% :D |
I got the Inland North...lol...where the heck is that supposed to be, anyway? |
I am inland north also- but when I take the New Yorker survey I come up as "somewhat", which is kind of true- I lived upstate a bit. My parents were Polish and German so the north makes sense. Wonder what my 3 Florida born children would be? Fun, Thanks for posting! |
Inland North 100%. I think its the midwest? |
Mine say's West 88%. |

They gave more info: You may think you speak "Standard English straight out of the dictionary" but when you step away from the Great Lakes you get asked annoying questions like "Are you from Wisconsin?" or "Are you from Chicago?" Chances are you call carbonated drinks "pop." Chicago is where I lived the longest, 20 years. My accent is a little mixed up having lived in the Southwest, Washington DC, Midwest, and now borderline with the South. Neat test. |
My accent is a blend of American and Irish. Despite living in Ireland for over 30 years I still have quite an American accent, least that's what people I meet tell me. |
Your Result: The Northeast 94% Judging by how you talk you are probably from north Jersey, New York City, Connecticut or Rhode Island. Born and raised in Northern Jersey...I liked the test! |
That was pretty accurate. Inland north here. Actually, some of my wordings sound Canadian. Ay. |
Dead on...96% southern and proud of it lol |
Midland |
Born and raised in Dallas so I'm Texas-Southern drawl combination. |
Strangely I got the midland, |
100% Texas twang! |
People think I'm German when they first meet me, which is strange since I have no German blood and have never even been to Europe. |

yelp.... I have "heard" your southern accent:D I have been in Miami tooooo long, I am only 88% Southern. I may test higher if I took the test right after visiting my family in Eastern Tenn...Southwestern Virginia lol |
100% northeast which makes sense because I've always lived in New York. |

born & raised in NY, Da Bronx, heavy NY accent, and proud of it. Even tho I now live in Pa. and LOVE my new state, I gave up my NY drivers licence, my NY car plates, sorry, I will not give up my NY accent. I worked to hard to perfect it lol. |
Inland North 85% and I've lived in the midwest forever. I think midwesterners are void of any kind of accent at all until you go to Chicago where it's like visiting another country (sorry, don't mean to offend any people from Chicago here) |

Like the test says since I'm straight out of the box not sure what that really means. |

When we first moved to Chicago, we couldn't understand anyone. They talked so fast compared to what we were used to, and it is sort of nasally, or swallowed. We picked it up in no time. :p |
It says I'm a midlander. Probably not from the west. I live in Oregon and mostly have lived in the west. Lived in PA and Ohio for a few years and everyone there though we had an accent. |
I have a very definite NY accent. |
born and bred on Long Island but have been gone since my 20's my friends still tease me about my New Yawk accent, but truly most of it is gone. Plus I say things like purse instead of pocketbook, pop instead of soda, porch instead of stoop, trash instead of garbage, which my family thinks is funny, especially the pop one. However once in a while I will say something where I can hear the New Yawk come out and that cracks me up. Oh and after a few glasses of wine the New York starts coming out |
