| Judging by how you talk you are probably from north Jersey, New York City, Connecticut or Rhode Island. Chances are, if you are from New York City (and not those other places) people would probably be able to tell if they actually heard you speak. hehehe well I grew up next to Rhode Island and always wanted to be a New Yorker.

| I am inland north also- but when I take the New Yorker survey I come up as "somewhat", which is kind of true- I lived upstate a bit. My parents were Polish and German so the north makes sense. Wonder what my 3 Florida born children would be? Fun, Thanks for posting! |

They gave more info: You may think you speak "Standard English straight out of the dictionary" but when you step away from the Great Lakes you get asked annoying questions like "Are you from Wisconsin?" or "Are you from Chicago?" Chances are you call carbonated drinks "pop." Chicago is where I lived the longest, 20 years. My accent is a little mixed up having lived in the Southwest, Washington DC, Midwest, and now borderline with the South. Neat test.

| My accent is a blend of American and Irish. Despite living in Ireland for over 30 years I still have quite an American accent, least that's what people I meet tell me. |
