I can't remember if they were acting strange b4 the earthquake, I had just fed them their supper & they were begging for the food as I prepared it like any other day. Loll same here, I think they were more scared bc of me, bc I screamed. Whenever I touched Turbo, he started hyperventilating & shaking & when I removed my hand, he stopped.

| Your poor uncle! I would be sick about the damage. Sure, happy to be safe and happy it wasn't worse, but what a pain. When we had our big one here, I was afraid something would fall on the pups. I screamed for them to "come." Trainers would frown on my tactics, but the boys obey when they hear fear in my voice. We huddled in the door jam, but other people pointed out that I probably should have gone outside. Seeing your pictures of the sink holes, I don't know if going outside would be good. Nowhere is safe.

| One of my friends was in the apartment in Northridge from that famous photo of the apartment building crushing all the cars. I can't imagine what crawling out of that was like for her.

| Holy cow, the Northridge EQ was hella scary! My friend from high school was attending Cal State Northridge that time & she was on the toilet! I was driving, coming back home from a B-day party & thought I had a blown tire. My bff was w/me & we thought it was the end of the world. We were on the 101 freeway & saw the transformers blow/ explode, light up the sky & it went completely dark. We pulled over, cried hysterically & prayed loll, the cars were whizzing by us like nothing happened, so we drove us home.

I wouldn't know how to handle all 4 w/out them running away, that would've been a nightmare. I did think, 'what if the front door opens & they run out?!' but it didn't. The morning after, they all wanted to go out in the backyard, they seemed to feel safer out there than inside w/all the aftershocks. I felt comfortable w/them out in the back bc it's a very secure fenced in yard & I stayed there w/them. But even then, I kept checking that the side doors were closed. Good thing is, they have a pool & there's no cracks & just a tiny bit of water splashed out when I checked that night. I did see on the news of an apt building in Fullerton that had gaping cracks that went along the whole side of the building & the tenants were evacuated. They all got a notice this morning that it was ok to come back. I think my uncle's house will be ok, they'll just need to re-spackle the hairline fractures & re-paint or replace the dry wall if need be, I hope so!

I just saw a news break that showed some footage of quake damage and saw a terribly messed up bedroom from the quake area - drawers all flung open and some tall furniture turned over, stuff everywhere it didn't belong. That room was a mess! Then they showed some damage to foundations of homes. I didn't realize until today how damaging it was to some. That would be so awful to just be sitting calmly in nice weather and things start moving and crashing all around you, including the home or building you are in, and you don't know which way to go or how severe it's going to be. I've heard over TV these last few years that standing under a supported area inside is suppose to be safer than running outside but how in the world one suppresses the urge to bolt outside with the dog(s) and family, IDK! Just so glad nobody or animals seem to have been seriously injured but, oh my, your peace of mind has probably been shattered for a while.

| My piece of mind has been shattered. I couldn't sleep last night until I took down all wall hangings that hang above our heads. I think I will keep them down for now. We are still having aftershocks. Kind of scary! |

| Can't blame you - I'd be just the same for a while until things have settled down again. It's got to be nerve-wracking right now but hopefully, no more quakes.

Agreed! That's why none of the others scare me in the least. They're manageable compared to that one.

| I share a birthdate with the Mexico City quake. When the nurses found out my mom was from Mexico, they kept giving her updates. They scared her for nothing since our family lives on the west coast of Mexico instead of the east.

| It's best not to hang them back up. We always try to not hang any pictures or decoration over our heads. It just isn't practical in earthquake county.

| Luckily she was on the second floor. Think everyone on the first died.
