I thought you were serious and I was really jealous. P-Nut and Pickles's mom and I are dreaming of the SuperZoo Pet Expo in Vegas next year (I can't do it this year for sure). She has family there. You and Kaji would have to come!

Have fun with your little brother's party. If it were me, I would start cleaning next Friday night.

There were so many aftershocks, didn't get much sleep @ all...as soon as I dozed off, a jolt would startle me up. Mimi was very sensitive to all the aftershocks, she would start shaking, that's how I knew we had them, the ones I couldn't feel. Dang, I thought it was the end of the world, not kidding, it was so loud, it was rocking, shaking motion, I ended up on my knees, not sure if I lost balance or got weak knees from being so scared. I couldn't do anything, couldn't grab any of the fur butts, they were scurrying around here & there, trying to hide. Things were being knocked over, glasses breaking, the angel porcelain collection my aunt has were decapitated!
Here's some cell phone shots of the damage in Fullerton, there were a couple of busted pipes which caused sinkholes in the ground. Some people had no water & there's many damage to the homes. There's so many cracks inside & outside of my aunt & uncle's home. My Dad is there tonight to fix things that fell (blind covers & lighting fixtures). I couldn't stay there any longer, felt the aftershocks this morning too, couldn't wait to get out of there! As we were leaving, there were news vans, taking pics.

How lucky is that car!0329140956.jpg0329140957.jpg Not too far from the 1st sinkhole...0329140957a.jpg
0329141003.jpg There's a sinkhole in there...couldn't get any closer bc I had Princess & Turbo w/me, didn't want their paws to get wet w/that water...have no idea if it's toxic or not.

Have fun! The P clan got so lucky!

Very scary! I can imagine it was very difficult to sleep with the aftershocks. Sorry to hear your aunt had so many things broken in her home. Glad you are all safe!

I've only experienced a few earthquakes here in Illinois. We are close to a fault line in Missouri and I think the strongest was a 4.0and that was strong enough. I can only imagine something in the 7.0 range. I'm not sure what the CA earthquakes feel like but the Illinois quakes feel like the ground is rolling.

It depends. I've felt rolls, sways, and the nastiest one in 94 felt like it was everything at once.

Scary stuff to just see the effects of it on film but I cannot imagine the terror of going through those long, long seconds of shaking - not knowing if it's going to keep on or get worse or what! Then, those awful aftershocks!!!

What do your Yorkies and other pets do during the shaking, poor babies? Do they bark or run or what?

The nastiest one I can remember feeling, I was in elementary school. So it was the one in the 80's. It felt like someone picked up the house off the ground and was shaking it around. Stuff got thrown everywhere and I almost got knocked in the head with a night stand mirror that fell in my room.

Yes, the one a couple days ago, the people in fullerton and la habra and those cities felt it much worse than I did here. I am about 13 miles away from fullerton.

I still have heavy paintings and stuff of the wall for the time being at my house right now. Especially the ones above beds and couches where anyone might doze off. I kept hearing the window rattle last night and it was freaking me out.

OMG, I can't imagine the damage a 7 or higher will make...scary thought! I couldn't believe that this one was only 5.1...maybe bc we were right on top of the fault line. It felt like we were being shaken back & forth, up & down nonstop. I didn't know if it was gonna stop, really thought we were gonna die! I really started panicking when the lights went out (I think that's when I screamed), TG they came back on right away.

All I could think of was my fur butts & kept a mental note of where each of them scurried to...they all went in different directions. Mimi went in the kitchen where the glasses were broken but she was ok, she just stood there, frozen in fear. Momo came running to my lap afterwards, the partition door that closed off the family room (where we were staying) opened up & I found Princess in the dining room, right next to the table. Turbo was right next to the coffee table in the living room. They're smart! I learned from them what to do next time (knock on wood).

So last night, felt a couple of aftershocks, but they were not jolts, maybe bc we're back in LA. It was a slight rolling-moving feeling. When I was in Fullerton, it felt like someone bumping on the sofa real hard & the scary noise that goes along w/it. Big difference. Talked to my Mom this morning, she's still in Fullerton & she said there were several aftershocks that she felt...she's coming home today, she doesn't want to stay there any longer!

Here's some more cell phone pics of the inside of my uncle's home. This line of crack goes all the way across the room! 0329141052.jpg All the furniture (even the refrigerator) is out of place. All the drawers & cabinets were open, the contents inside spilled out.

The cabinets on the floor were on top of the cabinet in the corner. I think one was on the other side of the wall. Everything fell of the bookcases & desks. The printer & keyboard was in awkward places, upside down, my Mom put it upright here.0329141100.jpg

This is the bathroom ceiling light, one plastic partition fell off & cracked, the other ones are just hanging there by the edges. 0329141100a.jpg These 3 pics above are from upstairs, lots of things got moved around.

Fireplace, there's crack lines like this all over the house & outside too. 0329141101.jpg

Those pictures are just heartbreaking! Your poor uncle! I know he's just sick about his home. I had no idea that much damage was done in some homes! I hope his insurance company is generous with the poor guy.

Sounds like the little doggies know there is real danger and they react just as people do when they hit. I'm sure glad Mimi, Momo, Princess and Turbo weren't injured! I've heard animals can sometimes predict a coming quake and head for "the hills" so to speak. Too bad they can't tell us about it if they can get early warnings.

Were anyone's dogs restless or behaving unusually ahead of the quake?
