| ? About Maltese I know this is a Yorkie discussion group, and I absolutley love my little Yorkie baby, but I was wondering, do any of you have a Maltese, and I was wondering if they are every bit as loveable as a Yorkie.... I was initially thinking about getting another Yorkie, male, but having him spayed, I'm not breeding my baby. Then after seeing what is available, a Maltese is comparable in size, as well as $. Any thoughts? |

| A lot of Yorkie owners on here also have Maltese. I don't have one, but the ones I know are much more laid back with less energy than my Yorkie. Hope that helps You can check out http://www.maltesetalk.com , too, if you'd like.

| I have a Maltese and he is NOTHING like my Yorkie! He is very laid back and doesn't have the high energy that my Yorkie does. He's not a lover like Muffin either. Although Biscuit gets really excited when we come home, he won't kiss and cuddle like Muffin. She will lick your face off it you let her! I must say though, Muffin has helped Biscuit to get off his lazy duff and be more playful. She just whines and begs him to play with her until he finally gives in (most of the time anyway). Although the Maltese is white and a little harder to keep clean, they are such beautiful dogs. We keep Biscuit in a puppy cut and he is such a handsome lad. I think that they balance each other out beautifully. I don't know what it would be like to have two high octane dogs around! |

| We have an 18 month old yorkie, Gracie and a 12 month old Maltese. They are a great pair - they play together, sleep together, do everything together. They are the best of friends. It was one of the best things we ever did for Gracie - she is never lonely and always has Sammie to play with. I did not realize just how much company they would be to each other.

| I LOVE My Maltese! I have a male Maltese named Codie and a female Yorkie named Tia. They are the BEST of friends! Codie is a LOVE BUG! He wants nothing more in the world then to cuddle up with me and make out - LOL! He is such a KISSY boy! I just love him to pieces. I can't imagine my life without him -- he's so perfect and wonderful. Plus, he has NO tearstaining whatsoever! I never even clean the hair under his eyes in between baths. He's white as snow. Tia is a bit more fisty and fresh (while Codie likes to lay down and sleep LOL) but Codie does get into a playful mood often. He chases Tia around the living room, trying to kiss her -- it's so adorable. I honeslty have NO complaints. I love the Maltese breed and I could never imagine my life without one in it.

| JCarlson2004, lnovack, muffinlvr, are your boys spayed???? I would love to have a little boy companion for my Kalena, but I wouldn't want any accidents... And I just found out that the lady who found my Kalena for me, has a male maltese puppy up for adoption!!!! |

| How exciting! They ARE wonderful, I have a 2 year old female, Chloe. She is much more mellow like the others said, but still silly and fun in her own way. |

| That's fantastic!!! These are the answers I was hoping for, and you guys have pretty much made up my mind! muffinlvr's comment about having 2 high octane dogs made me think of going for the maltese, opposed to another Yorkie! A balance would be quite nice~! |

| Wow How adorable, I've always wanted a maltese.......but decided that I think I can only handle one, but a maltese would definetly be the kind of dog I would buy if I ever decide to get another.
