I like the 1st ones. I love the more industrial look & they seem more solid than #2.

I think I'd base my decision also on how much time I want people in my kitchen while I cook. Everyone ended up at my breakfast bar so I opted for padded microfiber seat and back. I have black granite counters too. I also have a lot of milk glass . Love yours!

I still haven't decided, though you all have been a big help. I'm torn bc I love the industrial look of them both, but one is much more industrial than the other. I don't like anything traditional bc it's just not my style...it has to have some sort of an edge to it. I don't prefer the look of bar stools w/ backs on them, at least none that I've ever seen bc they usually look too traditional to me. What I end up with doesn't really need to be padded or anything bc we don't use them long at all - there is no TV nearby where one would sit and watch a game or whatnot...nothing like that...just there for a quick sit.

Ack, I'm so torn over which to choose....which makes me feel very lucky to have such a ridiculous First World problem
