| Do you clean your printer's printhead? I had 4 Canon printers over the past couple of decades & they all died on me the same way. The ink tanks got clogged, no way to fix it...better to buy a new one. So I googled & apparently, you need to wash the thingy that holds the ink! So I thought I could salvage my current printer by cleaning the tank & SO much ink rinsed off of it. Air dried it & put it back in, it still didn't work, kept getting a B200 error message. So I watched this in hopes of finding a solution: WTHeck hahaha! I had to go out & get a brand new one, got a hp this time, hopefully it will last a long time...I have an ancient hp puter & it's still going strong. (knock on wood!)

| I'm sure this is really dorky for me to do but.. I googled the error code and it seems like some ppl were able to "fix" it. Not sure if you threw it away already but if you want to give it another try, here's the link: Canon MX860 repeats B200 error code -- brought it ... - Canon Forum Batteryheadbill <--- this is the post you want to read which is about half way down the page. Another common suggestion I saw was to just purchase a new tank and replace. As for HP... I used to be a HP printer fan but their products doesn't seem as sterdy as it used to be. I'm happier with Brother's printers now. But then... I only have experience with office printers so hopefully, yours will last you MUCH longer. |

| The problem w/my printer is that it's clogged inside the machine where the ink stops (to the right). The black ink is all gooey on there, so I cleaned it as best I can w/alcohol & q-tips...but I think there's more ink clogged up in there. Canon said it needed 'servicing' w/out even knowing what was wrong w/it. All they needed to know was the B200 message! My aunt told me yesterday to get a Brother's printer! I only use for home office use, this to print out invoices & shipping labels...so we'll see how it goes, Thanks!

| If you do a lot of printing for invoices/shipping lables, I'd highly recommend a brother's laser printer. We used to have all HP inkjet/officejet printers but they all broke after couple years. And we went through so many cartridges... I've had the brother's laser printer for 4 going on 5 years now and I've NEVER had any issue with it. Plus, I buy the refurbished toner so not only does save a lot of $$$, it lasts a lot longer as well. |

| I don't do a lot of printing but when I need it, I want it working. My Cannon has been great for me but if it should break down in a couple more years, I would buy a Brother inkjet.

| I had the same thing happen to me with the printer heads getting clogged. I went on You Tube and found out how to clean them and the printer still didn't work. Went out and bought another printer and before I threw the old printer out I tried to clean them again and this time it worked. Now I have two printers. I think the old HP printer was 2 years old when it quit working.

| I forgot to mention I now try to clean the printer heads once a month. I can go on my printer screen and press the tool bar and an icon comes up to clean the printer heads. The printer will clean its own printer heads.

YT 2000 Club Member | My Kodak printer head cleans itself with the push of a button. I have had lots of problems with the printer lately. I use my printer a lot! I do scrapbooking and print my own photos. I think it is on its last leg and I will soon have to replace it!

| If you don't really care for the quality of the print and just do black/white documents for invoicing and such, I strongly suggest laser printers. For pictures and high quality prints, I heard cannon was very good. I used to be a big HP printer fan (not their PC though..) but I feel their quality have gone down over the years. |

| NOOOOOOOO! NOT HP!!!! I hate my HP printer! I always get errors, or that ink is low when I just replaced. Or I put in new cartridges and the printer doesn't recognize them. I hate that thing. But isn't there a section that you go under in the print box that you can choose to clean printer heads and align them and stuff? Used to be that every time I changed my cartridge it made me clean print heads and align them which used up paper and ink. Another time every time I turned it on it made me do it again!

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | wow- I've never had a loud printer But for the OP - Many printers offer maintenance cleaning - you have to go to your Printer Preferences and find the Maintenance Tab - there will be a place for you to do a deep clean or a regular clean - it does eat ink though - this is on Canons which I've had for years and do a TON of printing on. I do have a new canon - and while it prints beautiful - it is an INK HOG ....my retired canon pixma I can't buy ink for anymore and I have 2 sitting in a closet in perfect condition - but no ink ....I do not like this New Pixma Printer - way way bad on ink and the ink is 90 $ for the tanks. That is now how they make their money - Printers are reasonable but ink is high and goes really fast. I'm worried about my little business with the labels and cards- I'll probable be ending up breaking even with the cost of ink with this new printer |

I will def be doing the cleaning every time I put in a new tank of ink. I think that was my problem (4 x's), making the ink clog inside the machine. Ugh I know what you mean, all my past printers were pixma's, no more!
