| Cold - I shouldn't complain, BUT... I know I shouldn't complain but I'm going to anyway . We are in the midst of a frigid cold snap (for our area, anyway) and our furnace decided to go on the blink. The heater guy is coming tomorrow, but I'm cold NOW! We have a couple of space heaters throughout the house keeping the temp in the low 60's. I'm bundled up laying in bed on my matress warmer and the furkids are all laying in heated beds. Too cold inside to do much - my hands are too cold to sew and I dread going outside to feed the horses. It takes about an hour to feed and water everyone and well I'm just whining..... Apparently all of the heaters that were supposed to come south went north and northeast instead. I'm really glad that the folks up north have access to space heaters - I know that they have a greater need, but MY HANDS ARE COLD and I can't do much with gloves on. Prayers go out to all who are facing the really frigid weather. |

| I really feel for you! Complain On! It's not as cold here but winter is just not my favorite time of year. I too have to feed horses and since it's been kinda cold we've kept them in their stalls. Not a good idea because they are really frisky but better then me getting plowed down when they are running full speed to get to their breakfast and dinner.

| do you have a heating pad, if so use that to warm your hands and drink a cup of warm tea, holding that will warm your hands up. my hands get cold and it makes even just thinking hard.

| UGH.. well it's a balmy 19 degrees today, about 10 degrees warmer than yesterday in actual temp and 30 degrees warmer than the windchill yesterday! I feel for you though so much, I hope they get your furnace fixed fast! UGH being cold is awful, I hate it!

We are beginning to warm up at last here in Ohio. It's only been three days with the schools closed but it seemed to me like weeks.

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | I hate to make light of your situation but join the crowd . . Cold, cold and more cold is what has been the topic of discussion on the board for the past few days and its Horrible. I know it just plain crazy isn't it . . and this frigid weather make people miserable and not wanting to do anything, me included. Good thing you have a secondary heat source to keep you and those babies warm even if it is cuddled up in bed. Hope that repair man get there and get you fixed up so you can at least go back into a nice and toast house after feeding the horsed tomorrow.

| I guess this is a good time to be thankful for the more than average body heat I tend to have. My friends used to flock to me for heat in winter but would avoid me like the plague during summer. LOL It's so cold here that even Magnus doesn't want to go outside to potty. But honestly... I still prefer the cold over heat. |

Lol, my hubby is like that too. He absolutely hates it when we are laying in bed, I am freezing and try to warm up off of his body heat. Seriously thou all I have to do is put one foot against his leg, butt or whatever is in my reach heck I'm not picky and within a matter of minutes my entire body is warm. He's my own personal little space heater !!

YT 2000 Club Member | dog I live in California Now how do Yorkies do their bathroom business when it is freezing cold outside? Do you set up a little station inside. My boys probably would not venture out in that cold. I sure feel for all of you and pray for sunshine. These California people would go nuts if our weather turned cold and snowy. NO more shorts! Yikes |

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | Galen has been going outside except when we had the deep freeze at -4. He is so little. I was a little worried.

| My boys ran out about 5 steps, did their business and turned right back around. They wanted very little to do with being outside. LOL On top of all the drama with getting my mom home, my hubbys parents went on a cruise on saturday, but they missed their connecting flight due to delays and then missed their ship. They were flown to puerto rico for 3 days where they caught their ship on tuesday. I felt so bad for them! But to make matters worse, they live 1 mile from us and have 3 cats, so my DH goes over to their house to make sure all is good in this deep freeze. They tell him that they should have oil delivered by Monday since they are on auto-delivery and it was SUPER low. Here it is thursday, still no oil from Fred Fuller, the company is all over the news at this point for not doing their auto-deliveries and their phones are not working, his parents tank is running on fumes now, so we are going to have to get some diesel and get it into their oil tank today after work just in case. And it's still only 9 degrees here... so they cannot run out of heat, or the pipes will freeze FAST! GEEZZZ I need valium to get through this week! LOL

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Cindy you're welcome to come for a visit. We'll have upper 70s the rest of the week and probably hit 80 on Saturday.

| Thank you got all of your replies. Like I said, I didn't really have any real right to complain with so many others facing much worse conditions. Sherry, I'd love to come for a visit. I would love to meet you in person! Well the heating guy came today he was super nice. When I answered the door I had Lollie and Lacie at my feet along with Lollie's three daughters - Savory, Spicy, and Thyme. As soon as he saw the Yorkies he whipped out his phone and started scrolling through his pics so he could show me their 6 year old yorkie cutie. I got so caught up in the moment that I invited this strange man into my home without confirming who he was. That is so not like me. Anyway we talked yorkies for about 20 minutes and then he checked out the furnace. Seems like NOTHING was wrong with the unit, it was just so cold outside that the pipe that drains the water generated by the unit was frozen and it has a shutoff valve that trips when this happens. It really SUCKS when it's too cold outside for your heating unit to work properly. Fortunately for us, our repair guy was VERY honest and only charged a nominal fee for coming out. If anyone in Rome, GA needs a good honest heating & air conditioning guy that is polite, honest and has a yorkie, just shoot me a pm for a referral. |
