It's really snowing now, heavy, big flakes at a hard rate and the yard and roads already covered. I'm thinking we're getting more like 2" of snow. Temp just 20 degrees at just after 1:00 pm.

Haha. Your red bolded part about the weather forecasters! Do you get Pete Delkas on Ch. 8 in the D/FW area when a bad storm or tornado is coming? He can't wait to jump on live TV and scare the pants off us all afternoon and evening telling us how awful it's going to be - makes me think the storm is headed right for me!

Of course I get Ch 8. My favorite station is Ch 8 , then Ch. 5 for weather issues. I do live in the Mid Cities area (Hurst, Euless, Bedford ) which is just behind DFW Airport.

Yep Pete can be real scary at times. Actually Ch 8 is one now at 3PM, I guess they are early today. LOL

So sorry to hear this Kathy, it is exhausting and I just hate to leave the house anymore and I feel like a hermit. Tomorrow I shop no matter what the temperature. My daughter wants to come in to do my shopping but I don't want her to, when I am so close. The fresh air will be good for me as long as I cover my face with a scarf.

You take care, I may be an optimist but I do believe it has to let up soon.

That's our Pete. I figured he'd be on live on a weather special if he got the chance! Too bad it's not something really scary - that's when Pete's at his best! His eyes seem to get big and he almost rubs his hands together! lol. I guess he's not quite as bad as I make him sound but he sure gets into it and scares me silly when a tornado warning has been issued for the area!

Ch. 8 is my favorite channel too and always has been and I also mostly rely on David Finfrock for my weather. He's not quite the alarmist that ol' Pete is during bad weather.

I was going to say, I sure hope Atlanta is listening to the weather....they are in for something they have said is going to be worse than what they had with the last disasterous ice/snow storm....the powers that be are telling people to stay home....do NOT get out on the roads.....hopefully, they are hearing this and will not end up in the same dangerous, unbelievable mess they had a week or so ago!!!

In NC here - they are predicting some snow here the next few days! I plan to stay in so I don't clog the roads since we southerners can't drive in snow. We don't get much here, so any snow is always exciting.

I heard they have already cancelled school in the area for the next two days and already declared a state of emergency in 11 counties or something like that, told everyone to stay off the roads for two days. Sounds like they don't intend to get caught sleeping on this one. Already heard one reporter asking if this was going to be considered an overreaction!
