| I agree. The ice is the worst. Don't take chances. Stay home if you have icing conditions. Wondered how many areas were without power. That is also one of the terrible dangers of ice. Most people don't have an alternate heat source. Hope everyone and their pups stay warm. The weather people seem to think the temps are going to go up before what is left of the storm reaches us, so for now they are predicting rain or a "wintery mix" but the forecast changes often. Would much rather have a foot of snow than any amount of ice. Stay warm everyone. |

| There are still 11,000 in my area without power. They have been without for days. It is terrible and I pray they get it back soon.

| My 3rd day stuck in the darn house. I am going so stir crazy. I feel so bad for all the people that have been stuck on the Interstate for at least 24 hours if not longer. They called in some heavy special trucks to try and get some of the ice off the roads. We have had big rig's stuck that just can't move. They had one guy on the news this evening who had a Yorkie with him that travels in his truck as his companion and it showed him taking him for a walk. Sure was cute.

| Lets reiterate..... There's no snow in the Dallas area. It's ICE and sleet. Snow is simple. Snow packs down and has allows for some semblance of traction. Snow is manageable and doesn't shut down the city for 4 days. It snows in Amarillo and other parts of the panhandle and west Texas, sometimes even east Texas, but for the most part Dallas only sees ice. Ice, however closes everything down, because quite simply, we don't know how to drive in it/on it and its dangerous. It breaks our trees, it cause accidents and its a pain in the butt. If it were snowing, I wouldn't mind. Ice I hate! My husband saw an article that explained why certain areas are getting colder weather and others that normally get it aren't. Basically it's a buckled jet stream. Cold areas are warmer and warmer areas are colder.

| I've been stuck at home since Friday. DH tried to take me to work today but we only got down the road and I decided it was too dangerous to risk it. We live in an area surrounded by bridges which apparently are the worst. Everyone warned us about how hot it would be here but NO ONE warned us how cold it would be. We were very unprepared.

| FINALLY after 3 1/2 day's I was able to get out of my driveway. The Ice had loosened just enough that I broke it up in pieces with a shovel and was able to get my car out of the garage and GO!!! I hate being stuck in the house and knowing I can't go anywhere. LOL

| I hope everyone who had problems with the ice has gotten home and now have electricity. We have had terrible ice storms in NYS. Yes, ice is a huge danger to everyone. The central part of NYS was without electricity for weeks a few years ago after a bad ice storm. People with no alternate heating sources had terrible problems. That is why we much prefer a foot of snow to any amount of ice. Roofs can be shoveled off but with ice all you can do is wait for a thaw. With electric lines and trees down things pretty much come to a stand still. Roads can have black ice which is basically invisible and it causes terrible accidents. Thankfully this storm missed us but winter hasn't even started yet so we have a lot of weather ahead. |

| I am hoping to get to New Jersey from Upstate NY to place my parent's Christmas blanket on their grave on Thursday. I do this every year and pray that the weather will cooperate.
