I am very sorry for your loss of your daddy. I send many prayers to you and your family at this very difficult time. Please don't beat urself up as I am so sure he knew you were on your way...maybe it was easier for him to let go without you there. Again I am so sorry for your loss hugs to you.

Sending prayers of comfort to you. I was not there when my dad passed away. Now I work with hospice patients and I know for some reason I was not meant to be there. Patients will wait until family arrives before they leave us or sometimes patients will wait until you slip out of their room and then they will take their last breath. Your precious dad is not suffering. You will be surrounded by all our caring prayers here on this forum.

My heart goes out to you on the sad loss of your Dad. Know that your Dad would not have wanted you to drive in the windy conditions. The grief counselor I went to after losing my husband last year always said "be kind to yourself". The hospice nurse said the same thing Sandy said. My son and daughter were there all day the day my husband passed. I sent them home in the early evening and just before I was leaving later that night Ken passed away. I think he didn't want the kids there but wanted me there. He knew I would have been upset if I hadn't been there. Take card of yourself and let others help. Hugs

My heart breaks for you!!! He would understand that you wanted to get to him safely. CRAP that you are burying him on his birth day! Since I am a person who has lost both parents in the last few years, I can only imagine what you are going through. Try, try to remember the good times and all that he gave you. Shed big tears if that's what you feel. It's ok to do this. I guess, in time, your heart will get the piece back that's shattered right now. For me, I am still in denial of both my passing and think to phone them sometimes, but remember I can't

This is not about me I know, just sharing my feelings with you. Big hugs during this difficult situation. Just try to think that he is at peace right now and not suffering any longer. It is always the ones left behind that take on the suffering after the loss of a loved one. Hope some/any of this helps you.

Oh I'm so sorry for your loss. What a tremendous amount of guilt you are carrying. You need to let that go someday, you were a great daughter and had a lot of love and respect for your Dad. I'm sure he knew that and loved you right back. Things (like not being there) happen for a reason. (((HUGS)))

My heart is with you tonight and hope the pain will lessen soon and turn into wonderful memories...never forgetting him though.

Just remember the days you were there and forget this one last time that must have not been meant to be.

I loved my Mother but my Dad and I were like two peas in a pod and we were so close. I think so often Dad and Daughter relationships are that way.

You are in my prayers sweetie, it's such a difficult part of life. (((hugs)))
