| Santa Barbara Does anyone live in SB? Spend a lot of time there? What do you think of it? What about Santa Barbara county (surrounding area). Would it be difficult to get a 1BR apt? I know it's "expensive", but so is Chicago, so I'm not too worried about that aspect. How much would you estimate an apt would be? Is it dog friendly? What's the job market like? If anyone could answer ANY of these questions, I'd really appreciate it

| My daughter lives there with Buddha and I visit a lot. I love it and it is very dog friendly. She rents a 4 bedroom house with three other girls for $2500 a month. It is an expensive place to live as most places are in Southern California unfortunately. Lots of colleges and college students at UCSB, the community college, etc. so there is a lot of competition for those kinds of jobs. Santa Barbara itself is pretty small but there are other towns nearby like Ventura (half hour away) that have more reasonable housing, etc. There is less expensive housing the areas around UCSB too ...a place called Isla Vista which my daughter would not consider living in because they party 24 hours a day there and that is just not her lifestyle. Let me know if I can help further. |

| Kristy, Santa Barbara?! You go girl! Don't worry about what your apartment looks like. I always said if I lived in So Cal, I would live in a box and it wouldn't matter because there is so much to do and it's so beautiful I'd never be home! Go live there so I can hear your stories and live vicariously through you! |

| I LOVE Santa Barbara, and have always said if I ever moved to CA that would be my first choice.
