I'm having trouble voting - it looks odd and doesn't seem to respond correctly. I see a red ! or a red box that says system error when I search or try to vote. Help!

too funny the first thing I did this morning was look at the standings, about a half hour later I realized I had not voted:D needless to say I went back and voted. .18% away from first place, yesterday was a good day for YH we gained ground, but when that other group wakes up I am sure they will start a push of their own. So we have to keep it up, LOL by Sunday I will be exhausted:p

oh my word just checked again and the other group is at 12.15% of the votes and we are at now at 12% Yea to yorkie talkers, their votes are helping so much:thumbup:

Donna-you must have looked right when I did--those are the same numbers I got! I'm going to go around the house this am and vote on each computer! Heehee;)

Yorkie Haven Rescue is only .06 percent of the votes away from taking the lead!

This is funny I was just on the phone with Linda chit chatting. Both of us were quietly checking the stats but only looking at the bar and the % not them name and then all of a sudden we realized Yorkie Haven was now the top bar not the second one :D:D:D:D

while it is nice to be on top, we have to remember that voting still goes on till Sunday so now our goal is to beat them by several percentage points, because when you read the fine print it says the top rescue group does not automatically win since votes are subject to an audit, so that means the wider the gap between first and second place the better the chances to have a favorable audit.

I had my coworkers vote during a meeting this morning, and I realized on my walk this morning that many of my neighbors have unsecured routers...just sayin' :rolleyes:

Ok, after reading Michele Milligan's fb post from yesterday this morning about cheaters, forget I said this. I feel like such a lowlife!!! :hide2:

Could you explain what this all means to someone who largely resides in the old millennium, technically speaking? Does "unsecured routers (?)" allow cheating on the voting somehow?

if you have a wireless device you could log into any unsecured network, I am not savvy enough to know if this would allow you to vote on your laptop more than once.

Have you ever taken a laptop or I pad type of device somewhere for the first time and when trying to connect to the internet you get a list of networks that you are close enough to receive their signal from and then you choose one to connect to, that is what she is talking about. I think that is where your IP address comes from and how one vote is managed, it's one vote per IP address.

So probably if you voted at home and then took your laptop to starbucks and log into their net work you could vote again. I think I am going to try this just out of curiosity, is it cheating who knows I doubt it happens that much anyway since it would be a pain for most people to do that often

Ah, I see! Thanks for taking the time to explain. I see how cheating the vote could be done this way and no doubt some do it trying to get an advantage. Explains how some votes in some contests are so out of whack between the leader and even number two I guess. I've even read nerds/whizzes can get computers to use other computers on networks to vote and things but don't know if that really works or not but you sure do see vast differences in leaders sometimes - thousands and thousands of votes ahead of number two.

that's why you see more and more contests asking for info and making you type in their code letter, that helps prevent against computerized voting.

wooo wooo!! Just voted and YH is at #43. I haven't had much time to spend on YT lately....but I've been making sure I vote every day!

I wondered why online voting and things like that seem to be getting a tad more involved. That explains it. :)

knew it would not be long till the other group came back fighting, it is now an even tie and the other group's bar is now on top. So needless to say we can not miss one day of voting, LOL if I go to Star bucks with my lap top perhaps I will ask everyone there to vote!
