Do you like some of the Canadian-produced TV shows and movies? They do some fine work, too.

Andy's VERY favourite programme. Apparently they're going to make a movie of it next year, thankfully starring Idris...once again, it's going to concentrate on the back-story.

I didn't personally like The Hour - think I watched just the one episode, and fell asleep during that!

We've had a very good series lately called 'Broadchurch', loved it - and I think you might too. Very evocative of 'a British sea-side town' with a few sinister bits thrown in....

I'm sure we don't have Scandal, but I'll double check....it might be on an obscure channel that I haven't found, out of all the hundreds we have - is it good?

I really liked Luther too! Was sad to see it end. Glad to hear they're making a movie of it. I hope Alice is in the movie too!

Broadchurch was great. I liked Lightfields & Marchlands, The Village & Top of the Lake too!

I don't think I've seen The Hour (it's not on my saved playlists), but there are a few I recorded and didn't get into right off the bat...like Utopia & Holby City.

Did anyone ever watch the old A&E & PBS Hercule Poirot, Miss Marple mysteries? I sure liked those. And I remember back when A&E had some class, hehe.

What you need to do is check out the favo(u)rite soups thread....then you can prepare 'my' French Onion recipe while watching all your bestest programmes....good thinking?!!!?

If you've a recipe there, I'll try it. Not much makes me swoon like the best French Onion Soup w/crust!!! Oh, my!!! Now I'm hungry for my frog soup and a good quality TV show.

Season 2 is starting tonight on BBC 1, yay! I'll have to record it and watch it some other night though since I still have to watch the last few episodes of Season 1. I don't think I'm going to get a chance to watch them before tonight's episode.

Thank you for this thread. I started watching the show last night and I love it! It brings back many memories of studying in school the history and evolution of the department store.

Isn't it great? I like it so much better than the one w/ Jeremy Piven, I couldn't quite get into that one as much for some reason...did you? His character was so over the top and it kinda bugged. Whereas Mr. Moray is more intense, darker, has the wife's death mystery that no one is supposed to talk about; plus he's a hottie.

I go back and forth as to whether there is going to be a romance btwn Moray and Denise....

I haven't seen the Jeremy Piven one yet. He bugs me in general, so I can safely say that I prefer Mr. Moray. He is captivating and totally believable as his character.

The romantic tension between Moray and Denise could go on forever!
