You're doing great! You have a good handle on this "Lifestyle Changes". We do watch the beef very carefully. We try to only eat it once a week. So that means we eat a lot of chicken, fish and pork tenderloin cut for pork chops. I don't know if you noticed but there is another thread for "Healthy Recipes". You may want to go check that out. I put on a good recipe for "baking meat breaded" in the oven. It works well for all the meats. Try not to use vegetables in cans as the sodium is very high. We use only frozen vegetables and steam them. If you haven't already read the thread from the beginning, go ahead and do so since it's the weekend you'll have more time. There is loads of info there. Have you started exercising any? My husband and I go to Gold's Gym 3 times a week for an hour and a half hard work-out. Keep drinking that water! It's very important. Keep up the good work. I'm proud of you. Good luck in reaching your goals in life. |
Weee, so supportive, this is wonderful. I never eat vegetables out of cans becuase growing up we always had gradens and we froze our produce for the winter. So now I'm spoiled and I only eat the fresh stuff. I love steamed greenbeans, they're my favourite, especially if they're just a little *crisp* when you bite them. I've started exercising again. I was on my school's cross country team so it's sort of like riding a bicycle, you don't forget. My fiance and I run 2.6 miles every morning, which is really hard for him because he has collapsed arches and I have pilates on monday and wednesday. We're also looking into a gym membership so I can do more localized excercises. I'll definitely read the whole thread today, after I get back from the store. Need coffee! Oh, that reminds me. I've given up sugar almost entirely, the hardest part was no more carmel machiottos from starbucks! :p |
Support is our "middle name" here in this group. We're all here for one another. We love hearing from those in the group. You are doing wonderful. Wait till you start with the gym membership. You're doing great running that much! That's wonderful. That will help you to subtract calories from the number of calories that you eat that day. That's great that you've given up sugar. Does that mean you don't drink sodas either? When you start to read the thread, go ahead and print off whatever you want to keep available. You definitely won't be able to absorb it all by any means. Print off the lists of things. That will be very beneficial. Keep up the good work! We're proud of you. |

Congrats and an announcement. I emailed everyone in the club, but here's the same note incase some of you did not get. ************************************************ First of all, let me say CONGRATULATIONS to all of you folks who have done such a great job losing so much weight since the first of January! Teri tops us all with her 15 pounds gone! How wonderful! There are others among you who are also doing really well, as you can see by the stats. There are a total of almost 120 pounds lost for the Club in total, with 60.4 gone in the month of February!! YEE HAW!! That's incredible! I am very very proud of each one of you who have decided that changing their eating lifestyle is a valuable asset to your health, well-being, and physicality. You keep on going this way, and you will realize the benefits of healthy eating and exercise for years to come!! As to the announcement, I regret to inform you that I no longer have the time to keep the Club stats. I find I am spending less and less time at the computer since the weather has turned beautiful here in NC. Both my personal and my business life have quickened pace, and I need to sacrifice somewhere, and thus I regretfully must ask that someone else step up to the plate. Anyone who is interested in keeping the stats for the club, please PM me and I will forward you the email addresses for everyone. I am hoping that someone does volunteer as I believe it is important that you all encourage each other, and seeing how others are doing is a way to stay focused and challenged. It has been an honor and a privilage working with you all, and I am happy to see your results so far. Keep on keeping on! HERE'S TO HEALTHY EATING FOR LIFE!! |
I know that none of us want to see Glad leave her post. This IS after all her group as she started it. I know that I can't fulfill her job. It's just too much for me to do with all my health issues. |
Weight My weight for this week is 145. I am still trying to plug at it. I just need to consistently exercise. (I'm working on it) |
I have no idea what will happen now as I can't do it anymore with all my health problems. It's just too much stress for me. My husband doesn't even want me doing it anymore. He says I spend too much time on here when I should be walking on the treadmill and looking after MY own health! He's right! I just sent this to Glad. Maybe she'll stay and keep helping everyone. I hope you understand MY situation. |
Then I guess it's all up to YOU, people! Anyone who has been following this thread knows that to eat healthy takes dedication and committment, and the weight loss is only a side benefit. I am not saying that I will not help anyone who has questions or issues. You all have my email and you can also PM me anytime. I just don't have the time to keep the stats any longer. YOU CAN KEEP YOUR OWN STATS AT HOME! :eyeballpc Make a cool chart and keep it on your wall! Your scale will help you see how you are doing, right? So will the clothes in your closet!! You don't need me to keep track for you! YOU CAN DO IT YOURSELF! I am still monitoring the thread, so kick in your questions/issues anytime! I will be there for you. I can't imagine we need anymore information added to what Pat has already done here, (Thanks Pat! :teethysmi ), so I am certain you will all be just fine! We have gotten you started! NOW IT'S UP TO YOU!! :cheer: :hearts-xx :cheer: |
Good job, Tammy! Quote:

I couldn't have said it any better than that. Those that are on the right path just need to stay on that path. If you haven't been on that path, just go back and reread the thread. We're both cheering all of you on! Good luck to all of you! :happyboun :happyboun :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :happyboun :happyboun |
a HUGE THANK YOU to Glad and Pat....You both put in a ton of time to this thread and helping people and I for one learned ALOT....shows we are never too old to learn....At 47 I thought I would be thin my whole life....and it just shows you we ARE what we eat...I gained 20 lbs because I was not eating healthy and now am going to LOSE that 20 and have made lots of changes... Thank you to both of you ladies.....and don't you dare stay away too much ...we still need you here ! |
