I had lunch with my friends, and I loved whatI had. I had pho gai and shrimp spring rolls. There was enough pho in my bowl for two people, and it was a medium! The broth, noodles, optional sauces and veggies made me feel so healthy! The only thing was the chicken. I had a lot of dark meat, which I don't like, but I forgot to ask for white meat only. This place is open 24/7...believe it or not. I will def go there again. Oh, regarding tee-shirts, I did see a customer with one on that had a subliminal message on it. She was probably in her 70s, and didn't realize the connotation. Too funny!

I'm not adventurous, so can't do the 'funky' meats, but I just get the seafood pho. So delicious & love putting the chilli sauce & oyster sauce in the soup. We always get the eggrolls too, so good! You wrap it in the lettuce & dunk it in the fish sauce w/chilli...ohh my mouth is watering loll.

Glad you enjoyed it! Try something different next time. See if they have this dish called bo luc lac. It's garlic shaken beef. Cubes of filet in butter and garlic w broken rice. It's a bit pricey compared to pho but it's good!

Will do! Is the meat lean? One of my friends ordered beef that had a lot of fat on it, and she ate it without taking it off. That would me hard for me. I think the dish had the word "biet" (sp) in it. I did try her broth, and that was really good.

From my experience, at least where I'm from, Eastern Asian cultures tend to like the dark meat over white because it's not as dry. Just a head's up for future chicken purchases.

The bo luc lac is lean, bc it's filet mignon. Tender but no fat. It's just cubed up, not in a single piece like at a steak house.

The biet you friend ordered was likely "dac biet" means house special combo. It's the one with everything. The fatty cuts were brisket and/or flank. I like those cuts and I don't take off the fat either.

Asian cultures use the WHOLE animal, so not just dark, but necks, bones, heads, . Just be specific about what you want. Rarely do they say no. Sometimes they say yes, but ignore you. That's just how it is. You don't go to a cheap hole in the wall Asian place for the service you know?

Oh, definitely they use the whole animal (just go into any Asian marketplace! HA HA) I was just saying that they tend to prefer to eat dark over white. And I tend to agree with those taste buds

I know!! I always thought people just forced themselves to not eat dark meat bc white is less fatty. I was shocked to learn some people actually prefer it? why?

I'm having seafood pho tomorrow for lunch. Can't wait!! Capt Noonie, regarding the white meat preference, I guess it boils down to what you're use to. When I was young and living with my parents, we had breast meat when we had chicken, or turkey. I never buy a whole chicken because I really don't like the way the dark meat looks, and the veins freak me out. I will make buffalo wings for my hubby, but I make chicken strips (breast) for me.

If you stick with white meat you will be good. I love the spicy seafood pho also. I did not like the pho tai at the place I had it at. Maybe I'll try it at a different place later.

How was the seafood pho? I'm trying not to eat chicken or eggs, but if I do, I prefer chicken breast, all white meat. You should try the seafood porridge...so good!

It was delicious! So far, my favorite! I plan to try the seafood porridge next.
