| The Chicago suburb we lived in tied dog tags to local car tags. If you didn't have your dog up to date, you couldn't get your car window sticker -- and would promptly start receiving expensive tickets on your car. Very effective program, but I understand few towns issue car tags.

| That's dumb. I don't have a license for Jackson, don't even know if they're supposed to lol. We live in the country though, nobody bothers us. Hah. But if someone tried to come in and take my dog, we would have problems. OMG he would be traumatized for life. I do understand tho in neighborhoods etc, if you have loose dog problems. But we don't have neighbors so it hasn't come up.

| I think because they can't single out a certain breed or breeds of dogs they have to do it with everyone. I read an article about this being a possible solution to problems many places are having with finding the owners of dogs that have attacked/bitten people/pets to hold them accountable for their dogs' actions.

| I have a license for Buster but the tag is so heavy that I certainly would not put it on a collar. I guess I could put it on a interchangeable clip for his harness but I just end up keeping it in a drawer. Most people I know do not license their pets. I figure the money goes to animal control so it's a good thing. I just wish they made smaller tags. I don't like the idea of them coming onto my property and taking the dogs especially since for some dogs they only have a 3 day hold period.

| If the dog warden wants people to take them seriously, they should proofread their official statements! I counted at least five glaring errors. Makes me think perhaps it could be fake. Maybe it's real but if I received a notice like that w poor grammar I would not do a thing it asked me to.
