| Bring It On!!! So, for the past 3 months, work has been so tideous with long hours. I am a fleet manager and dispatcher with a trucking company that hauls cars. The terminal I work at is located on the yard of the Hyundai Plant in Montgomery, AL. We have terminals all over the southeast, TX, OK, and over to CA. Our sister terminal is over in West Point, GA - the Kia plant (fun fact that you can astound your friends with - the Hyundai Santa Fe is actually produced at the KIA plant..not the Hyundai plant..eeewww, ahhhh..lol). Anyway, in January, the veteran terminal manager over at Kia retired. This was quickly followed by the releasing of the dispatcher, who became very insubordinate and sabatoging because she was bypassed as his successor. All of the sudden, that terminal had 1 brand new person running the show. Ha! This led to my terminal manager having to make many many trips (including yesterday and today)..some a week at a time..to train and basically run the Kia terminal in GA. This, in turn, led to me being the only one here in the Hyundai terminal. Our hours of operation are 6am - 6pm. That's right..all done by me during these times that my manager is over "there." She was burning out fast! On top of all of this, she has 4 sons - 2 of whom are still in school and 1 who is just over ONE year old. She has been exhausted! I made her take off for a 3 day weekend last weekend. I say I made her because she is very controlling (one of her lovable qualities lol) and has to call constantly even when not at work. I kept hanging up on her and told her to go play with her kids. Also, in Nov and Dec of 2011, she had her baby so was out for 6 weeks. I ran the place for those full 6 weeks - alone, 12 hour shifts. We are open 7 days a week (8 -12 on the weekend days), but at least I got to close the office on Sundays during that time. I had a little vacation back in July because I was running out of steam. But other than when I was so sick I wanted to die back on the week of Thanksgiving, I haven't had any time off since then. Well, it might not be a whole week, but I am FINALLY GOING ON VACATION!! Woot! No, I am not going anywhere or doing anything special. I am just getting the heck outta here! LOL Starting tomorrow (the 11th) and lasting thru Monday (the 15th)..I return to work Tuesday...I am off, Baby! Bring it on!!!!!!

| Woohoo! Hope you have a great time! One of my friends works for Kia in Chattanooga. I think she runs the service department. They hired her away from Volvo a few years ago.

| Thanks, y'all! I will totally enjoy it. Mandie is having her first dental tomorrow. They are also pulling her 2 retained baby teeth. So, while that is going on, I will keep myself from worrying by staying busy and getting the house and yard ready for next weekend's Alabama Yorkie Meet-up. And, then Friday is Mandie's 1st Birthday. I am not sure how sore her mouth will be but hopefully not too bad. I am planning to make her a cake. I have to go hunt a recipe..I keep forgetting to do that. I hope to take some pics of her with the cake and in her dress again. Sat and Sun will be yard work some more. And, Monday will probably be just me vegging out lol

| GOOD FOR YOU!!!! We all need some R&R to recharge ourselves. Seems you know that life is not all about work, you need to enjoy some time to do other things! Have a great mini vaca!!!! I hope the weather is good and the wine is GREAT! LOL

| Yep! Day 1 and I am loving having this quiet with just me and my boy. I am missing Mandie like crazy, but gives me time to do some shopping and baking before I pick her up from vet at 3:30. I was going to clean a lot today but I procrastinated. I'll start that tomorrow lol

| I know people that take WELL DESERVED vacations, and they have that dum cell phone GLUED to the side of their heads, calling and checking and "remotely" running work!!! You absolutely deserve this time off, so LOOSE THE PHONE!!!! If anyone from work calls, you aint there!!!! Nothing work related happens during this time off!!!! |

| Woot - woot for your vacation and doing a hard job. You deserve that time off so much. Judy is right! Lose that cell phone and stay off of the Internet! Best vacation we ever had was 7 days in Acapulco with no news or phone checks or base-touching with anyone. We ran off and stayed gone for all that time and guess what, the world sped on and our knowing what was or wasn't happening didn't make one whit of a difference. We watched no news programs on TV and those we did watch were only in Spanish! Laughed ourselves silly trying to use our poor Spanish skills to keep up. We swam, took day cruises, hiked and explored, visited the well-worn, lovely sites and seedy little dirt-floored cafes way out on the edge of civilization, danced in the clubs half the night. Not a single case of Montezuma's revenge either - and I don't know how we managed that! We were different people when we got back to Texas and I can't tell you what it feels like to totally relax and have nary a care. But the key is to disconnect from your old life for as many days as possible if you really want a thorough rest of your body and mind.

| Well, I definitely won't be answering the phone for work stuff. You can count on that I wish I could get away somewhere, but just not the right time. I mainly took these days because of my girl's surgery and bday. So, with that and yard work (much needed), I will be away from normal routine. Who knows? I don't drink much but I might even grab a beer this weekend hehe
