Woot - woot for your vacation and doing a hard job. You deserve that time off so much.
Judy is right! Lose that cell phone and stay off of the Internet! Best vacation we ever had was 7 days in Acapulco with no news or phone checks or base-touching with anyone. We ran off and stayed gone for all that time and guess what, the world sped on and our knowing what was or wasn't happening didn't make one whit of a difference. We watched no news programs on TV and those we did watch were only in Spanish! Laughed ourselves silly trying to use our poor Spanish skills to keep up. We swam, took day cruises, hiked and explored, visited the well-worn, lovely sites and seedy little dirt-floored cafes way out on the edge of civilization, danced in the clubs half the night. Not a single case of Montezuma's revenge either - and I don't know how we managed that! We were different people when we got back to Texas and I can't tell you what it feels like to totally relax and have nary a care. But the key is to disconnect from your old life for as many days as possible if you really want a thorough rest of your body and mind.
