I got a new job about a month ago. It was good pay, no nights or weekends, jeans, relaxed small atmosphere. It was great and going well. This week things were really slow and not so good. The company was a start up company. I went to work Wed. and pulled in the parking lot and there are only a few cars there. Hummm, strange, I walk in and they say the computer system is down and everyone is taking the day off. I get a call in the afternoon saying we are clsoing the doors today. They ran out of investor money. Wow, this has happened to me before and of course it was also a job I loved with a great group of people. I am now back in my basement office selling auto insurance throughout the US. Its ok but gets lonely being by yourself all the time. I love start ups and this is the risk I take but it always the best ones that seem to fail

well keep your head in the game and keep with the start ups till you hook one that is a winner! you have to keep on keeping on. you have back up it seems and although lonely you can use the extra time to look for new start ups just peruse with a glass of wine. lol. wishing u the best of luck to you in your search.

That does Suck!!!

I'm sorry to hear. I lost a great job that I loved in Oct. They went from 1800 employees to 250 over the last 3 years. I was in the last round of layoffs. I was so sad and still am. Hard to find a job that you love, the work, the people, the atmosphere!

Hope you find another one soon that is even better!
