| ![]() That's the thing...I have no idea what can be made. I'm not a seamstress and can't sew so I really have no idea what (if any) patterns are out there. I'd love to see shirts and sweaters, especially now that it's cold. I think shorts are cute and you can never go wrong with PJs! Suits would be nice for special events and holidays too.

| ![]() I will put some thought into this and see what patterns I can find or create. My Mother was a seamstress, she made all of my dad's suits, vests and ties and we all learned to sew at a very young age. Matter of fact...I think we made most of our clothes growing up and Mother made all of my sister's wedding dresses along with the bride's maid dresses. They also made and decorated wedding cakes and made candies...hmmm...maybe it was cheaper for them to buy the supplies and learn to make everything than it was to purchase or hire a caterer...I have 6 sisters! lol! Anyway, I have been trying to get one of my sisters involved in making pet clothes for quite a while...maybe we can get something going together. |

| ![]() I think there will always be a demand for clothes for yorkies. I think the reason you see so many come back up for sale is because people buy so darn much that eventually they need to 'clean house' and get new stuff lol Anything that is available as a custom made is what most like, I think. Me anyway. Mandie doesn't fit in the "categories" most times because she's a tad longer than most with the same chest size. I also agree with posting here and having an ETSY shop...it's a good mix to get business ![]()

| ![]() there is a lot available and in a wide price range. My advice is to check on ETSY and goggle, do a search for pet clothes, dog dresses, harness vests, and harness dresses so you can see what is out there and what the items are going for. I am on a lot of pet fashion and pet designer facebook pages and the stuff I see is amazing, some of it is even being made in Europe. I see people willing to make dresses in the $12.00 to $20.00 range and those that can sell dresses into the $100's and way above that for very special things. To me the styles don't vary that much it's the fabric and what you do with the trim that will set you apart. Are you an accomplished seamstress, do you have a good eye for color and contrast. Are you acquainted with sewing on velvet, satin, silk, brocade and sheers, are you good with ribbons, bows, and trim, if so I would say aim high and be what they call a "pet designer". LOL if I could sew better I would be a high end designer because I have a lot of good ideas and understand color, but I am lacking in sewing skills. So I pay people to sew for me and then drive them crazy since I micro manage everything including what color thread they should use. A lot of people don't realize that an upper end of "canine couture" exists, I think it is funny and get a kick out of how some people are very serious about it. Some of the events I go to is all about what designer your dog is wearing. Lola so far only wears dresses that I had regular folk sew for me, LOL I try to avoid those fashion snobs ![]() A big fashion week is approaching, in early Feb the 4 days leading up to the Westminster Dog show is NYC pet fashion week. There will be about 5 events consisting of fashion shows and contests. Since I am from NY I planning on going home for a visit and attending about 4 events. Currently I am searching for the perfect flapper dress for Lola and my sister's yorkie, The Roaring 20's is one of the themes. One of the gals that I know though all this fashion stuff owns a yorkie named Millie LaRue, she is famous in this crazy word of canine couture, designers line up to have her wear their stuff, just check out Millie LaRue on FB she has a photo journal going called 365 days of Millie's closet each day she has on a different expensive outfit. In the fall of last year she spent a few weeks in Paris being photographed and meeting with designers, did you know there is a Paw Vogue, it's on Facebook and they have an event geared around meeting the designers, I will be going to that as well. I love to look at the stuff but will not pay designer prices, but heck I am not opposed to a good knock off ![]()

| ![]() Donna, can you post some of those FB names on here? I noticed you had some. It may be a good idea for her to look at so we can point out what boy clothes we like... ![]()

You would have loved this store I went in while I was in NYC over Christmas it was wall to wall trim, lace, embelishments, buttons, appliques etc, they sell wholesale, on line and have the store. The ceilings had to be 30 ft high and the stuff was all the way to the top.

| ![]() I am always looking for cute boy clothes, I love oxford shirts and preppy cute stuff. I am more inclined to purchase hand made or unique things for reasonable prices. Some dog clothes have just gotten crazy priced
