| This is the new letter that is posted on Ebay... Hi Everyone, Thanks for your additional feedback. While we had hoped to be able to find common ground on the issue of facilitating local shelter adoptions on eBay.com, it appears that sentiment among our members is strongly going the other way. In short, the dominant point of view we’ve heard is that you do not want pet listings – whether for adoption from shelters or from commercial breeders – on eBay.com. Consequently, we will not pursue the idea further. We have initiated a preliminary discussion with Betsy Saul, President of Petfinder.com – a site that many of you suggested – to talk about possible ways we might work together. Sincerely, Lori This is great news and I can only imagine the hugh push back that they received. Letters were flying all across the country and boy did everyone give it to them with both barrels. The bad PR alone could have pulled this company right down and as it is it gave them a big black eye. Because they opened up this can of worms now people know that Ebay is selling live animals in other countries. What they raise dogs and cats for in China would make you cry. This war is not over with Ebay but at least it saved a few more animals in this country. Thanks everyone for jumping in right away and sending your emails and thoughts to Ebay, stopping this idea in its tracks.
