Several months ago, at about midnight, i got a notice i had new email. i checked it and it was a confirmation from walmart that i had ordered an ipad from them to be shipped for a store pick up in another state using my credit card. I called my credit card company right then and told them i did not order it and if i had i would not have it sent to another state. They put hold on card and took off the charges. I then called the store where i was to pick it up at and talked to the manager, advising them someone might show up to get it. They said they would put a watch on it. Never found out if someone showed up or not.
I did research later and found out that the walmart site had been hacked. Where i had ordered something earlier, the credit card info was still in their system.

I have not had a land line since 2001. I don't miss it one bit! I actually know of very few people in my life who DO have a landline anymore!

Lynzy, I'm so sorry this happened~ right at Christmas too! I use 75% cash for all of my "in person" transactions and a prepaid (preloaded) Mastercard for everything else. It's a little bit of a pain to go get a card to reload money but I am also checking into the new American Express Bluebird that will reload from your bank account.
