My Mom's Doxi can't walk

I hope this medication helps Rudy....I did not realize he was PARALYZED in his hind legs...
the doxi at the vet was just in so much pain, she refuaed to move at all....kind of like my Crickette gets if she doesnty get her Cosequin....which I will advance to this new, stronger med when it is needed for her. I already have another senior on Dasuquin, and THAT was a life saver for him....he too was barely able to walk without being in much pain....he would just lay very still and not walk....since the Dasuquin, he is up and walking, even with pep in his strp...I am praying that is what is wrong with Rudy....not a real paralysis, in which case I do not think this drug would be of help, but more of a severe pain issue, where Rudy just refuses to get up and move....I know it will help him if that is the case.

It's not a true paralysis in the fact that he can wag his tail. I was more using that term as a visual for Shinja and how his situation is different than her pup had a few months ago. Rudy tries in vain over and over and over to stand. His little legs just remain crossed and stretched out behind him. I'm working with my mom to find a rescue to take him since her finances won't permit her to obtain the surgery Rudy needs ( and has needed for 2 weeks now). She is taking him for a recheck today ( or maybe it was yesterday) to see if there has been any change. Surgery may not even be an option for this little guy. She is looking into getting him a little cart if that's the case and her vet says he can live a full life in his current condition.
He isn't my dog and I have very little input on her final decision. I think I would do things differently, but all I can do is try to give her options and hope she makes the best choices for both Rudy and herself.

Been thinking of Rudy and all of you. I don't know much about his condition and am praying for the best for him. The carts have come a long way to where they really fit the dog well...if that is the route your Mom will decide.
