| Flu blues...or something Hi guys...I'm typing this from my couch with three pillows, two blankets,a heating pad, and a yorkie surrounding me. I'm sick again, dont know what with. I dont think I remember ever feeling this fatigued and depressed I cant get anyone to cover me at work and I dont have a medical excuse because I have no insurance, but anyways, when I gwt sick I dread it because my immune system sucks! I stay sick for weeks and weeks. Its actually the reason I had to drop out of college. I got so sick I couldnt go to class for a month and a half. I hope it isnt that bad. Last week, Bf was sick and I was susurprised I hadnt gotten it yet...woke up this morning with the worst sore throat and felt like a zombie. Tried to get through the work day (9 hrs on my feet, at the shelter) and I fainted... Idk what to do, so I'm just laying here in misery lol. I have to work every day this week. I feel so sad. What at home treatments do you guys do? I've got hot tea with honey, and im trying to stay warm. I've got a fever but feel so cold.

| I take AirBorne tablets... disolve them in hot water... they shorten the time I am sick and give me energy to make it through the day. Hope you feel better soon...

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I am so sorry you are sick and have to go to work. You would think they would see how sick you are and send you home. Also, everyone else is getting exposed to the virus. I would try and drink plenty of fluids, take Tylenol if you can and rest as much as you can. Feel better soon.

| So sorry that you are sick. I know that it sounds corney but I make chicken soup and make whoever is sick eat that or drink the broth. I swear it REALLY works. We landed at the ER with on or ours not long ago and the ER Dr. told me to go home and boil a chicken and feed the broth to her. It really did help. Hope you get better soon. |

YT 2000 Club Member | Hi! Did you get a flu shot? I work for Hospice so I have to get the flu shot. I hope you feel better. Rest and eat oranges. Good source of vitamin C. Yorkie mamas are not supposed to get sick! Sandy |

| sorry you are feeling bad, have you checked the prices at the walk in clinics at the drug stores. you might be able to go there, get some sample meds and an excuse to be off work. it will take you a lot longer to get better if you keep working, and it could make it worse.

| Having to work doesn't help you get better since already being tired and drained only adds to your immune system not being able to rebound. Honestly, if it were me, I'd suck it up and go to the dr. Do you have a lost cost health department/clinic? If your throat hurts that bad, it could be strep, or a host of other problems, and it's not good to let that go untreated. My dd had a terrible bout of unexplained illnesses and was always drained and tired and her schooling was definitely suffering because of it. We finally had her tonsils taken out and it took about a year after that, that she finally had a good year. She finally admitted she never knew what it felt like to actually feel good. Take care of yourself, girl!!!

| Think of it this way....your immune system may not be "that good" because it's working in over drive doing what it's supposed to do. If you get treated, you and your immune system will benefit and it can work more efficiently, and that's money ahead in missed work/time for you.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I second the motion, the flu shot really works. Zinc lounges are good for the throat, mouth and throat. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Awwww, I hope you feel better, you poor girl . You need hot chocolate. Or, just chocolate in general really - if you can taste, that is. Also, ice cream. And lotsa movies. Anyone in your home should be treating you like the thinnest possible glass on the planet of Earth.

| Thanks for all the suggestions. I slept about 14 hours straight and havent eaten anything in about three days, my stomach just cant handle it. I do feel less exhausted today. I think it just hit me really hard last night that I felt like a total wreck and had to work. I'm just trying to get through this week since I have Sunday and Monday off. I have Airborne tablets and bf is gonna get me some soup. Shelly that sounds REALLY familiar, I'm so glad your daughter is better. And no I didnt get the flu shot. I felt uneducated about the risks vs. benefits so just didnt get it.

| I'm sorry you are feeling crummy... What's even crummier is that you have to worry about affording to go to the doctor. What type of society do we live in today? I hope you feel better soon... Drink lots of fluids, get lots of rest and get better!
