My sister (from North Carolina coast) went up to be with my mom in Northern New Jersey(about 12 miles outside NYC). The power went out at 8 pm last night and is still out. The old house is whole and dry! The phones are down... |
The news said a levee broke in Moonachie... |
good morning! Well here in Southern NH, we had minimal damage. lots of power outages and down trees, but not in my area. Actually I live on a dead end small street, maybe 10 houses and we are usually the first to lose power and the last to get it back, but we didn't lose it this time (flickered a few times) 1 house lost their power line but it was the one going to their house from the main road. I had to wait for the electric company to come turn the power off to the line before I left for work this morning(since it was laying across the whole road), which made me 10 mins late. other than that, everything is pretty good here! Today is supposed to rain hard all day and still getting 20+ mph wind gusts, but the wind is not a worry anymore, potential flooding is a worry today though. |
Has anyone heard from Sarah (Sophias Mommy) I last heard from her via text message at around 10pm last night. They had a lull in the storm and she had taken Sophia and Brody out to potty. I hope they are just sleeping in :( |
Yes we have power... but no basement or that's where I would have gone too! Pups are doing good... the cats are making me nuts though! Lol![/QUOTE] Oh good we had candles and flashlights ready but so far haven't needed them. Quote:

I am so glad we've heard from so many and all are safe. The others are probably facing power outages. Doesn't Jersey have millions w/out power? |
Glad to see everybody appears to have made it thru the storm. |
Did you see all those homes and cars destroyed by fire in Queens? Still finding victims there. They are saying as many 50 - 80 homes destroyed down to foundations and who knows how many died or seriously injured in the fires. Last night on one of the Hurricane Disaster Channel, one of the NYC local TV channel reporters was there and you could see this orange glow on several sides of the picture behind him. He was talking about how he feared there were blocks of fire. |
We escaped all of the bad stuff. It's very wet here, but we did not have the high winds that were predicted. I'm sure it will be a couple days to assess the damage on the East Coast. |
Yorkie rescued 1 Attachment(s) Would you look at this? I saw it on a Fox website I think and was described as rescued. Look at that dog and that woman/girl's face! :) |
