He is over Cuba now~ Next stop Southern Florida :eek:

Florida is under a State of Emergency. Now is the time to ready your hurricane and EVAC kits (if you haven't already. )Some Ports and airports close at 7pm tonight.

I wrote a series for hurricane preparedness for a wonderful, small, informative, FREE, online newsletter out of Canada, Absolute Yorkies, they are making the series available again on yesterdays presentation...if you go to their site, you can click on each article in the series....just to make sure you have "all your ducks in a row"....

I saw the news last night and was thinking about you, Shinja, Karen and all the other FL YTers. I remember karen mentioning something that I never thought about. If you have to hunker down in your tub or something, make sure the dogs are harnessed and leashed, just in case something happens, they won't run away!

Great advice but THAT ONE LINE makes me smile and cringe and grimace every damn hurricane season ~ buzz words :rolleyes::cool::D

I pray Isaac will keep moving westward and that the worst will miss Florida...and then miraculously lose power before hitting Alabama. This is the strangest storm.

Isaac is unpredictable ~ that is a dangerous attribute in a hurricane or TS :rolleyes:

A friend reminded me of something during tornado season. Something I hadn't thought much about. It was the leash and harness but also she reminded me to have shoes on. A lot of time we get woke up in the middle of the night. So just in case make sure you have shoes on!

Has it built in strength? The last I saw it was predicted a cat 1. But that was days ago. Praying it misses all of you.

If you decide to sleep in your shoes (Rhonda....) Make sure you shake the scorpions out first :eyeballpc: :sidesplt: :hide2:

It's still looking like a CAT 1 but tornadoes and FLOODING (here on Lido) are major concerns. Storm surge of 5-7 feet :bigeyes:

Thanks for all the prayers. I should be so used to this by now.. I have lived in Florida from the age of 5 to 13 and then back again after college. Also I live through the BIG ANDREW of 1992:eek::eek::eek:
I still get scared and worried. I did not put up shudders on the down stairs.. they are just sooo difficult! We have accordian upstairs and I hope to have them installed down stairs this winter.

The good news.. no school monday:p:):)

I will offer up my guest room also, not really close but within driving distance. Atlanta is suppose to get a lot of rain but nothing to horrible hopefully.

I calculated the drive.....12 hours there and 12 hours home. Plus you just lost a WHOLE week due to your skin cancer. Do you really think I want to get stuck cooking and cleaning for Brandon and Ricky?????? :panic:
