Wish I knew how to post pictures of my poor tree |
Im sorry you lost your tree but glad your staying safe |
I know the tree is the least of our worrys. I had to laugh my husband was upset because now he has to mow the lawn in the sun. Have to keep a sense of humor. They are saying we may have another 10 hours of this! Enough all ready! |
I guess our turn will start late tonight early tomorrow morning with winds in the 20-30 mph range, with around 1-2 inches of rain or more in some areas. Or at least that's what they are predicting. My daughter just got home from school and said they have canceled school for tomorrow. Pray everyone is staying safe! |
Now I dont know the damage and devestation of hurricanes we get tornados but some of tHese news reporters covering this thing are just idiots on Fox News at least. One reporter was standing in the wind kept getting knocked down because of the strong winds. Then another was reportiiing standing in waist deep water where a street used to be. I dont have to watch someone getting knocked down to get the severity of the situation it seems like they should be in shelter |

They will do anything it seems to get a "good" shot/story! Personally I would tell the producer or whoever that the shot/story IS NOT worth my life and that he/she was more than welcome to go out and cover it while I watch from the safety of my home or local shelter :D. |

We are suppose to get heavy rain and strong winds here from Isaac. They are also saying that it may cause some isolated tornados. This is what I get for telling Lisa Arkansas never has hurricanes. :( |

My son just got some upsetting news. He goes to a small school with less than 30 kids in his class. At the end of last year a classmate and his younger sister died in a car wreck. My brother-in-law passed away last week from injuries sustained in a car wreck. He just found out that three boys in his class was in a wreck today and one was taken to the hospital. Please keep the boys and the families in your prayers everyone! |

Unbelievable that this Cat 1 storm is still having 24/7 TV coverage and its misery keeps growing. Hearing about a dam break this morning and lots more people having to evacuate! Am praying for all of those sitting in the heat, damp and dark from the effects of this awful hurricane. I pray all of the people and doggies and animals affected by it are safe or soon made safe and returning to normal life doesn't take forever. |

While it was here (for like 12 hours stalling out) the wind gusts were clocked at 80 mph added to the saturation of the ground that's why we lost our sycamore. The funny thing is you would think people never saw a tree that fell before. They are driving by breaking their necks looking at it. My son just walked around the block and came back saying no wonder they are gawking its the biggest thing that fell around here. Hope everyone stays safe and this fizzles out soon! |

Glad all is well for you and that it wasn't too too bad!! I always worry about the tornados that can happen with the conditions of hurricanes, and I am so glad you are safe. |

I'm sorry that I am just now replying to your post Kristin!! It has just been a little crazy here. The biggest thing that affected our town was extended power outages. I personally never lost power..other than it blinking a few times, but the friends that came to get me on Wednesday actually lost power later that afternoon. So, on Thursday, we all loaded up and they came to stay with me at my home. They also have two big dogs, a lab and a weimaraner, and they brought them as well. I certainly would NEVER leave my dogs at home without electricity after a hurricane, and I didn't expect them to either. However, I did expect that they would come prepared to help take care of, walk, and clean up after a..so I was also getting to change all of this! nd assist in keeping their dogs separate during feeding times etc.. Oh, and I forgot to mention that one of the dogs is in heat. Let's just suffice it to say that it was a little chaotic here until this past Tuesday when they were able to return home. But again, we were so fortunate here during Isaac, and I hope no one on YT was badly affected by Isaac. |
