I remember Mom piling us all into her purple VW bus to go to Miami across Alligator Alley which at the time was a tow lane potholed filled road. God forbid you got stuck in the sludge on either side because you'd have a long wait for the next car to come along to take you to a pay phone!

OMG I always wanted a VW beetle or the van...how cool!!!!!

My skin kids had the moon shoes and furbies...haha we still have one of the furbies and my son is 27 now

One of my first cars was a yellow chevy vega hatchback similar to this. It looked like a bee.

Back in my teenage days we had cb radios in our cars. My handle (name) was

"Star Baby".

I can remember when elastic tube tops were the "cool" thing for the girls to wear (of course it was the girls

).......and you also had to wear your hip huggers with the elephant bells......add on the long fringe belt.....cool!

Lol......my dh hd one too he also had a long "whip" antenna that was on the back of the car which he would bend it towards the front end. It was held down with some sort of clamp. I NEVER stood in the rear of that car. I was expecting that antenna to snap back and take a body part off.
