Laid Off

I am so sorry it is such a shock. I was laid off without warning after 33 years. But I took early retirement and it worked out. I was able to care for my parents and FIL and nowmy husband without worrying about my work. I hope everything works out for the best!

That happened to me 2 years ago. The company sold and closed. It is hard and I haven't found anything I like since. I sell insurance so right now I am selling Aflac which is a great company but self-employed so there are no benefits. I hope you enjoy your time off and find something bigger and better.

I just read that HP is letting go 30,000. I thought the news & everyone was telling us the economy is turning around???? I am glad you don't have to jump at the first job & can wait to find something you will really fit & will fit you. A job you love is so important.

That is insane and so sad. It was about 100 of us at the company I was at and I thought that was a lot. Crazy.

I can get away with taking my time for now, but that wont last forever. Hopefully I'll run into something in that time. It is scary but like I said it always seems to work out somehow.

That's great congrats! I got laid off in September of last year took my time and found my current job in November. Not only do I make more but I am work from home 3 days a week and love my company. Everything happens for a reason. I hope your new job is awesome

Thanks everyone. I will keep you posted. Looking good so far. Yay! Maybe this layoff was a blessing in disguise. I'm hoping so!!

And losing my job didn't even trigger me to smoke!! I never thought that day would come where serious stress I could turn away smoking. Monday will be two months! I wanted to sooo bad and just told myself that smoking wouldn't fix my problems and went on with my day. Telling myself that really did work.

Anyone out there struggling with quitting should just remember that. When you run into stress, tell your self that. I can't believe how well it worked for me.
