| Vacation Plans Has anyone ever bought a vacation package through a travel agency? I had filled out a form f oror a drawing for a car giveaway they were giving, anyway they called me and said I was still in the drawing but as a promotion they were going to give me a certificate for a 3 day cruise with air fare included. all I had to do was come for an hour and listen to their presentation they were hoping to get our travel business. Well I talked my Husband into going he was reluctant though thinking it was a scam or too good to be true. Anyway we went and we got our cruise certificate and he ended up buying into their vacation plans because he thought it was a pretty good deal. What it is is you buy like 33 weeks of vacation for X amount and then you can book anywhere they have listed you can stay and all you have to pay is $99. they are really great rooms too with couches and kitchens and alot are pet friendly. The only thing I dont like is its limited to the different states, the carribean, and the bahamas. But like you can go to Hawaii or like us every year we go to Florida for at least 2 weeks. Im looking forward to going other places though

Yes I did six years ago joining a club called DWVC and Incentive Leisure. I paid a total of $42,711.38 for the pleasure of being scammed. I lost every cent of that money nearly putting me in financial ruin. I have no chance of ever getting a cent back. We attended a meeting which lasted all day and the people were more than convincing it all sounded so real and such a sensible thing to do. Good luck with your holiday I hope you did not get hit as I did.

As you say the sort your friend has is limited to two weeks a year. Often some are limited to one resort only while others have a choice. Another type is club membership where you can holiday as often as you wish but at a price. There are many others but most if not all will demand an annual maintenance fee. Once you are hooked in to this maintenance system there is no way out as it is for life. There are a few which are contracted to a time span like 10 to 25 years but all will increase the maintenance fee every year. The other type of membership is to join a travel agents club in order to get discounted holidays this is not time share and probably does not carry a maintenance fee either. This post is only meant to be a summery there are lots of other points in either Timeshare, Holiday Club or Travel Agents far too many to discuss on here.

| no it isnt timeshare. Its buying vacation villas and suites in bulk but we go different places. we bought 32 weeks and can go as often as we want untill we use up our 32 weeks. Then they have these weeks that no one booked at different places you can book and not use up one of your weeks. It breaks down that you are paying $72 a night to stay at these suites and villas but they also are very nice have kitchenettes and living rooms. We pay alot for that and have ended up staying at some substandard places booking on our own so its a good deal for us/ Alsp some of the places are pet friendly we are gpong to take the yorkies with us to Tampa Spring break
