| ![]() Does anyone have a guinea pig or any experience with them? I am thinking about getting one, but I want to do as much research as I can. Are they very noisy? I have heard them squeal and I was wondering if they do that all the time? Do they make good pets, do they bite? Any other info would be great! ![]()

| ![]() In grade school, we had pet guinea pigs in the class room. I got to take one home to babysit during holiday breaks. They are easy to care for. I had to clean his cage daily. I don't recall them making noise at all, and I never had one bite. My hamster bit me, but he was sick and died when he did it. I'm sure it is possible for any little creature to bite.

| ![]() I used to have a guinea pig! And one of my best friends has one. Mine only made noise when i was giving food or treats. He also made the cutest purring like noise when u petted him in a place he loved. And he may nibble on my skin if it smelled like food or something. But would never bite to be mean. |

♥Trained by my pups♥ Donating YT 500 Club Member | ![]() We had one when the kids were small. Sara she lived for eight years. She would squeal when we would get the treats out. And would run fast around her cage. Our yorkie at the time would look up at her cage and bark . She was a great pet. She never bite us. I brought her home when she was weaned from her mom. They are messy though cage needed cleaned often. When we lost her I felt so bad for boji that was our yorkie. He looked up at her spot often I could tell he missed her. We never let them together but he knew she belonged on her table ..

| ![]() My son had two, "John the Biter" and Spike. Spike was awesome. John, well...he was vicious. And they did smell a bit in my opinion ![]()

| ![]() I had two guinea pigs growing up. One actually lived a fairly long life, if I remember correctly. It became a big pain though - nobody ever wanted to clean the cage. It was a big process, LOL. They got very smelly though so the cage cleaning HAD to be done. Our guinea pigs were not very social so they did not like being handled by us very much, hence I found them very boring, but I am sure lots of guinea pigs enjoy attention more. Also their nails got soooo long and had to be trimmed. If they weren't, poop would get stuck in them, which was GROSS.

![]() ![]() And also, we were due to be adopting a little girl Yorkie (pre Harry, it all went wrong, but that's another story!! ![]() Her owners were 'getting rid of her' because the rats and guinea pigs were terrified of her - all she would do is sit and 'watch' them obsessively and it drove the rodents nuts!! Don't forget, our Littlies were originally ratters - and I'm not sure they can tell the difference!! ![]() | |
