| I used to get this same message when I advertised horses... they'd offer to send a certified cheque, so all kinds of weird stuff. I simply replied, I'm sorry I will only accept cash in person, and they left me alone.

It royally confused me, and caused a ton of headache cause I had to run around to banks and prove my identity, while I was trying to pay off my tuition. My bf told me to spend it, it's a good freaking thing I didn't

And Son is 110% right! All comments he made should be sent to everyone who sells online.

| From the author of the Scam the Scammer thread, I say, no way! Even though they are not talking about Western Union, they can always do a Paypal claim and get ALL their money back. Saying they will pay Paypal charges is a big sign and having you not "have to worry" about shipping is another. Plus, their English is horrible, another sign. Sorry sweetie, find a real person. Or, play with them! Lmao. Tell them you had an offer for double and would they like to counter offer! If they say yes, you know 100000% they are scammers! Quote:

| Just read what your son wrote! Smart guy! One more thing. Cashiers checks aren't always real either! Sometimes it takes banks up to two weeks to realize they are fake! Just an FYI.

| I always go to my son when I need some good sound advice. He's very, very smart and is always the one to take care of any ups or downs in the family. We all turn to him. I don't now as much as I use to because he's married with two little girls, 5 & 3. My husband is taking the coach off Craigs list. Seems there are just way too many scammers on there.

| I had a similar response when we were trying to sell our motorcycles last year! The guy wanted more pictures, and would send money immediately through paypal. I asked what kind of pictures, and he said something like "general pictures" which was odd because we had lots of pictures posted! I told him if he said what he wants to see specifically, I would send him a picture of it. Then I asked when we could meet and he said he couldn't meet because he was away with work. I said well, if it's a week or two, we can meet then. He said no, he's away for a long time. I was like "So how are you going to GET the bike???" and he was getting really upset with me and he said he has made arrangements. I was like great, have your arrangements come by with the money for it. He never replied again! I made sure not to give any information, but I wasn't going to just give in that easily!

| I've bought and sold some great stuff on Craigslist. You just have to watch out for those 419 scammers. They are trying to ruin EVERYTHING!

| When I sell things on Craigslist, I get a lot of scams. When I was unemployed last year, I offered dog sitting services. Well, this guy said he was a doctor and he was moving to my area. He offered to send me a check ahead of time for my services and told me he would send a couple hundred dollars extra so I could go buy the dog toys and food. He wanted me to cash the check and wire him the extra money back after I bought all of those things. Anyways, it was a HUGE red flag. I e-mailed him back and said I would still dog sit but if he was real, I would have to meet him first and I wanted cash. He never responded back. lol And what kind of person would move to my area, bring their dog... and not have toys and food? Don't trust people who don't want to meet you in person and can't write in English. I hope someone legitimate buys your coach.
