Also, so a little research on the way that most of those battery packs are recycled. Down in Mexico, with no regard for the enviroment, or the people recycling them. Lead poisoning is a terrible way to die.

I love my Prius so much! I am on my second and wouldn't drive anything else. I also had driven high end vehicles for so many years and my husband said you will own that for a couple of weeks and so on! Well he was wrong and the gas milage on this 2010 is even so much better that my 2008 model! Love it! I hate pumping gas I don't care what it costs! At least this keeps me out of the gas stations!

you don't plug the Prius in.. it is hybrid so it runs on gas and generates its own electricity.


It is very quite.. and at first I felt like it stop running when we were at stop lights and such. It has enough pick up.. it is not a high end sports car. My dh used to have vets and the like, his love car was a special edition Nissan 350Z-- I think it was a steve million ??? he almost slept in the car!! but there are not that many places to really run a car like that.

yuck.. that is horrible. But the problem is to change the recycling not just keep buying cars that use too much gas.

also .. the facts that you brought up about the "foot print" of the car.. how does it compare over the life of the car to other cars??? All facts are needed before decisions can me made. I am interested.

I didn't know that you don't plug them in...I guess I was thinking they had rechargable batteries like a golf cart!

Yes, we've had many, many high end vehicles too but...now that we have an all electric home it feels kind of good so I thought the next thing to do would be to get an electric vehicle.

I'm still looking...I don't htink I've convinced my husband yet though.

The Prius battery are nickel based...the newest ones are lithium. The new volt has a lithium battery for example. The battery's last over 200,000 miles. I am not sure it is the Prius batteries you speak of. But I will do some research


By the way Toyota is very environmentally involved.

I've been looking at the new V series. I'd love to have the wagon, but am not giving up my Lexus RX. Maybe I'll sell the excursion.
