Ok Folks, tell me if I am wrong

I received a PM from an individual and I will not show her screen name. This is what she sent me...

<I wanted to tell you, I thought it was really rude and disrespectful to post a thread on Lisettes Dad passing away. I know a lot of people care for eachother on here, I understand that part of it. What I don't understand is someone posting that type of information when they are not family members- esp gathering it from her Facebook. If she wanted to share that information she would or will post it. That was out of line on your part and next time you should think about what you are doing.>

I had no intention of being rude or disrespectful. Lissette is a personal friend, and has met Marge 4 times. I took what Lissette posted on Facebook so it is not like I did anything to stir the pot. I know some people still harbor some resentment or hatred for me, and that is fine. It is messages that I get like this, that makes me seriously consider leaving YT. I know I am far from perfect, but I felt I did the right thing as a lot of YT people are not FB users or friends.

I don't see that you did anything wrong. If you and Lissette consider each other close personal friends, and you wanted others praying and saying words of comfort for your friend, I see nothing wrong. The only person that can tell you to stop, or make you feel bad for asking for warm thoughts for a friend, is Lissette.

But, for the record my warm hearted friend, whatever I post on FB stays on FB. Just kidding! I post more on YT anyway. Have you seen my post count?

I think you did the right thing. Sometimes in time of crisis /loss it is nice to have someone post for you. It was in Facebook so I am sure Lisstte was glad you let YT know. Ignore the negative people life's too short.

I didn't find anything rude or out of place with what you did. I am FB friends with Lissette also and had seen her post there first. I may be wrong but I am sure she will appreciate the thoughts and prayers from her YT family also.

I was surprised by that PM you received. I thought nothing of your post other than you were asking for prayers and support for Lissette, who obviously is going through a terrible time right now. I've also seen ppl ask for support when other members are sick or for members birthdays.

I personally do not see anything wrong at all with the post. I think it was posted because you care about her and wanted her to know others are there for support and prayers. Steve, we wouldn't know what to do if you left YT. We all have learned that we can't let others ruffle our feathers. Take it with a grain of salt and move on. Oh, and remember you are only as old as you feel!!

Oh, my, Steve! Consider it another bump in the road of life and you put that person on ignore. How very rude of that "youngster" to call you old and rude. I am FB friends with Lissette, too, and she would have shared with her YT friends as well. Don't forget, Steve, hit the "ignore" button and don't you dare leave YT!

That is absolutely ridiculous. I don't know Lissette, but I figure if something is posted publicly (i.e., facebook) then I think it's okay to share. Further, given that Lisette knows you and your family, she would not take offense because she would consider the source first and foremost (i.e., good friends) and realize the intention behind it, which is to give the person grieving our condolences and support. Please pay no mind to whatever this person wrote in a private message. She/he is clearly out of line. Please do not consider leaving YT due to a handful of people who do not know right from wrong. I think that there are wonderful members here that will miss you guys dearly if you were to leave, and that is what matters most.

The world today is so full of hate and war.

Our private lives are being ruined more each day by people killing or robbing from us.

How nice it is when someone does a kind thing like ask for prayers for a friend and how sad it is that they are rebuked for doing so.

The one thing which this world is lacking is love for each other. Not the romantic love the younger ones enjoy but love for a fellow human being and respect for those who only wish to do the right thing and support a friend.

I consider myself as old now but I can often out class many young people with my respect for my fellow human beings.

Anyone who cares enough to inform others of a terrible tragedy real or pending, has to have a kind heart.

So sad to read you were taken to task for doing what you did and out of the love of a friend.

I know sometimes people get upset at posts for some reason or another that I can't even figure out, especially when they don't have anything to do with that person. I hope you just know there are people who like to criticize posters/posts and that makes their day. Sorry, I just had to say that. I think what you did was sympathetic for a friend. I think you did the right thing. Lissette would be the person who would tell you if she didn't like it. She posted it on FB so she obviously wanted to put it out there.

Please don't leave YT because I for one (and I know a lot of others) have always enjoyed your posts. You seem like a great person to me.

What is wrong with people. Even if this person thought what you did was wrong. What did they get out of making you feel bad for what you did. I could see if it was Lissette who was upset with you, but who even is this person and why do they care??

Some people who think they are "all mighty" and know all etiquette should know better than to send that kind of a message to someone.

You did a very nice and careing thing and Bless you for it. You got slammed for asking us to keep her and her family in our prayers!!! What a terrible person you are!!!

I think Lissette has a nice people for friends.
