Thanksgiving in the hospital

Just now seeing your post. Sorry this accident happened to your husband. I'm glad though that he is out of the hospital for a bit. I think it is good to be in a family environment right now for him. Yes, the most important part of the process after the surgeries will be his physical therapy. You are both in my prayers.

We are staying at my oldest daughters as she lives much closer to Rochester just in case we need to get back faster. The doctor that did the first cleaning and setting in our home town. Put one of the stabilizers through his main artery in his foot.. So when they did the first surgery in Rochester they had to get another doctor who repairs arteries to come in and try to fix it. The say he is the best around and he did a good job. Otherwise we may have lost his whole foot.. Man it's just like finding a good vet.. But in a emergency you are at their mercy.. He is resting as well as he can and I am learning lots. I am not good at giving shots but I am learning as he needs one a day right now. It is amazing how fast your life can change. Anyways thought I would update. I hate to wish my life away but am looking forward to three months from now when things will get back to some kind of normal..

I'm glad you're at your dau's, at least. It beats the hospital! I hope it gives you a chance to get some much needed rest as well, but I know it isn't the same as home. Is this the dau where your babies are staying? I suppose you can look forward to each week being better than the week before. Maybe that will help the three months go by faster. It's going to be interesting trying to get around with him when there is snow on the ground. I hope everything works out ok.

Yes he will be stuck in the house a lot. Other then going to the doctors. And the snow will be no fun. I hope we don't get any snow. Wishful thinking I know. Yes the dogs are here with us and hopefully we will all be able to go home after we get these next surgeries done. Hoping by the end of next week if all goes well. But I am sitting in the recliner now with all three of my babies sitting next to me. They are so wonderful. I am so glad they are with us. Most of the day the yorkies have been sitting right next to the dh. I think they really know he is hurting.. And he loves them so they make him smile...

OMGosh! I'm just now seeing this thread.... oh your poor DH, what a horrible accident! Hope he pulls through all the surgeries and has a very speedy, comfortable recovery... Sending hugs and prayers.

The yorkies will be good for him. I'm sure that recliner feels good, especially, surrounded by yorkies.

I'm continuing to pray for a smooth, speedy recovery for him! And those yorkies are the best medicine for a nice recovery! These little guys are so sensitive, I am sure they know he's hurting and are trying to make him feel better... Big hugs to you!
